Been going here for years, best chippy about. Food and service always 10/10. Couldn't recommend them enough. Made a mistake on my order and went above and beyond to rectify it. Darren is an absolute gentleman
This particular establishment serves my personal favourite chicken in the world, they have the best chips I have ever tasted. I have never had weird, awkward interactions while my order is being taken (unlike my exeprience at the evil Cod Father where all the workers hate you and eachother) , in other words, the service is perfect and the food comes out fast. The women that work here are much more than just coworkers, they are clearly friends with great rapport, the atmosphere is beautiful. I love the wooden interior.
I usually love golden cod and their food is always lovely and good quality but my order this time wasn’t, it maybe was because of the person who put my order in or just miscommunication through the phone but for first I can take half the blame as I ordered a plain burger which to me is no salad or cheese and such on it and when I got it, it had cheese but I should have specified and then a I ordered a garlic cheese pizza and the guy I talked to asked me what I wanted on top and I just reconfirmed with him over the phone that I wanted a garlic cheese pizza nothing on top. Which obviously he put through wrong or misheard but it arrived but as a just plain cheese pizza. Not what I ordered. I do have to say when I called back to inform the guy of this he did say he can get me a new burger and pizza. I would suggest using the just eat app to do ur ordering so no miscommunication doesn’t rlly happen and if it does u have a receipt to show. The reason I didn’t was bc they don’t have their battered mushrooms on it.
Went in to the shop for my order. Waited 30 minutes for it whilst everyone who ordered after me received their order before me. I went to ask about my order and the woman was just plain rude. You would think she’d be nicer and apologetic. To top it off, when I got home, they didn’t put any mayo in my wrap. It was as dry as a bone and there was a piece of string in it. Absolutely disgusting. Will never return there again with my hard earned money.
We used this chippie for years but since it got new owners. The food quality has declined. The chips have little taste and are yellow? The fish is dripping in oil. We tried it again recently but much the same. We had to press the fish in kitchen roll to expell a serious amount of oil out of it and it was everything but crispy@ I do not recommend!!
Fish supper well worth it, twice the fish anywhere else. Not just great quantity but quality. Plus small burger still big enough for adult. Will use again. You get value here. Yum.
Wow, where to begin, chicken fillet burgers with no salad!, chips in a lump, all cold! Ordered nice and early chose a delivery slot of 17.30, arrived half an hour early, thought ok at least it will be fresh, NO. Totally unpalatable went into bin. Will NOT be using again.
