   Date night and first time trying Escabeche.....we were not disappointed. Service was amazing, food was delicious and atmosphere was lovely. Lots of choice for tapas, the food was excellent quality and the cocktails went down a treat. Will definitely recommend and be back again.

   We were served a set menu. It was the most disjointed dinner I've ever eaten. There wasn't a single plate that made sense with the next. Felt more Asian fusion than Spanish, plus some dishes can't be served as tapas. They don't make sense as small plates and you are left unsatisfied. Meatball (singular) really??? soggy Chips (3 for each of us)?? I'm afraid tapas is a fancy term to be used in order to save money and rip off customers with small, pre-made food portions. Paid £42 for few bites and one drink. They offered 10% discount cards but none of us wanted them. Service was good though.

   Food was OK, definitely declined since last we visited (many years ago). Stand out dishes were ones with quality produce (sounds obvious but some dishes really were average due to quality of ingredients) atmosphere was poor. Terrible live music, felt more like a cafe than a restaurant.

   Lovely atmosphere, with a great offer of tapas and drinks, including wine, sangría, etc. The restaurant has two floors and many tables. I recommend booking in advance, but we did not book and got a spot anyway. The staff was very friendly but I felt that some members lacked training. We ordered a vermouth and the glass was quite less than half full, which is quite different from the "usual". That was quite disappointing.
