Have been here a good few times over many years. Slowly losing fath. Now lost. Visited recently with friends. We were the only people in the resteraunt all evening. We asked for wine, and were told "we have no wine"! We asked for sparkling water, "we have no sparkling water, but I can go to Morrisons to get you some." A little later Morisons brand bottle of water arrived, no ice, no lemon etc. Should have walked out. We didn't. Food arrived, was okay. Obviously we should have left before ordering but we stayed and ate okay food. Probably okay for take away orders, but clearly no longer a resteraunt. Previous visit, 6-9 months earlier was only moderately better. That is to say there were a few other people eating and there was wine, water, and not just one type of beer available. Sad loss for Totnes.

I have been visiting Balti King for over 20 years and must admit I haven’t visited since before C***d :( I don’t usually review food places but after all this time it’s about the time I did !!! It’s like I’d been in just last week and not been away for so long!! Simon (the owner!), and at the moment his amazing wife who is helping out, welcomed my wife and me like the old friends we are as if we saw them yesterday! As ever they are genuinely pleased to see you and nothing is too much bother for them. As for the food….as ever it was tasty, well presented, and the portions are just right if not a little on the large side (but you can doggy bag it no problem if it beats you mmmmm!) and the quality of the ingredients was first class….you can tell that the kitchen and the chefs won’t accept less….. 5 stars on everything we ordered! Thankyou to Simon and his lovely wife and the staff there for a great meal (reasonably priced too!!) and a great night out !! Can’t recommend it any higher if you want to have a proper Indian meal! It’s tucked away but it is one of the hidden jewels in the Totnes crown! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Simon and Elaine M

Tried Balti King for the first time tonight. The owner and his wife were very friendly and welcoming. When I booked, we were invited to bring our own drinks, which we did, and they provided ice and lemon. The food was tasty, and not overly spiced. Large portions. We had onion bhajis, and sheek kebabs for starters. For mains, we had shakuti chicken, and mixed chicken and lamb sagwala, naan bread and rice. Very reasonably priced £45 I would go back, and would recommend the place.

Friendly, good prices and easily the best Indian in Totnes. We go to Balti King every time without fail and have never disappointed. Can't recommend enough.

We visited for a spur of the moment curry on a Saturday night. They were very busy with a steady stream of takeaways but happy to accommodate us. The food was superb, all fresh and tasted amazing. We couldn’t finish it all and they were fine for us to take the rest home. I can highly recommend.
