Fabulous visit, really great to find somewhere that isn't commercialised and feels really relaxed. Membership is a bargain, facilities are limited to field parking, portaloos and basic changing spaces, plus several points of entry to the river. We loved this back-to-basics approach, nothing more is needed and it was great to see people of all ages enjoying the river and field. The river is cold (as you would expect) but not overly so, I swam for about half an hour without getting chilled. It gets busy by the entry points, where you can also jump in etc, so if you want a more peaceful swim, head upstream past the camp site. The water was a bit murky when we were there, but rest assured there is nothing waiting to touch your legs and freak you out! I went in/out via the ladder where the river is apparently 2m deep, and didn't touch anything at all for the entire swim. Saw a few fish jumping and I'm sure on a quieter day there would be more wildlife to spot. Will be back!

This is the best place for swimming in Somerset. Seems to attract the loveliest people, guaranteed calm and relaxation. Also has toilets, changing huts and steps into the river with a handrail and tonnes of parking.

Great members only spot. According to the club it is the "oldest swimming club in the world", not sure how true that is. Plenty of parking. Swimmers at their own risk with no lifeguard. Lovely weir and two portable toilets provided.

Amazing place from the steps, rope swing and wooden ledge to just off to the beautiful safe secluded field it even has portaloos. There is a field to park in then you walk into a big field with everything I said above. Great day out with kids or just some time for you. Xx

Great place for a swim with easy entrance, parking in the winter months is tricky as off site but in summer you have a big field. The river is wide and clear of debris. With lovely low trees over hanging so you can spot the wild life including King Fisher. Check flow before you go in, don't swim solo.

Disappointed with a recent visit. No day tickets (so you have to become season members, at some cost), lots of full rubbish bags great you on entry and a number of our party caught a stomach bug from swimming. Could be so much better

A beautiful setting, with plenty of shade under the trees. Fun for the kids with the rope swing. To get away from the noise just swim a bit further up stream. Very peaceful & tranquil. Been coming for years. I highly reccomed it. Well kept & clean.

I love this......it's an amazing clean site with safe access to a clean (as clean as an inland waterway can be) stretch of the river Frome. It is private, open to members of the swimming club only (membership very affordable and well worth every penny) which deters masses descending daily....great, also we members all help to keep it tidy and look out for one another. If you're local, join.
