I don't get the good reviews, not impressed and won't be back, very mediocre food and unimpressive service. First error we booked the restaurant for 6pm and we were shown to a table in the sort of space between the cafe and restaurant, we didn't like to say anything because all the restaurant lights were off, soon after people started to come in and were sat in the restaurant, we felt that just because we were early we were not sat in a nice seat. Then we were served the wrong dish by the waitress, who in fairness corrected it immediately. The food was ok, we ordered a very nice bottle of £32 wine, we didn't want another bottle so we ordered 2 further glasses of house wine, the waitress said that they had a very similar wine to what we had just had would we like that, I agreed to this but didn't specify a size, 2 large glasses of fizzy wine arrived that was nothing like the bottle of wine we had previously had, we were in a rush and knew at this point we would not be back, so just drank it. Maybe it was just a bad night, but we don't want to take another chance as it's not cheap. Such a shame as we thought this restaurant had promise. In answer to your reply to my review, at what point have I said it was our error??? I didn't say we made an error choosing an expensive wine? I said that after the wine we ordered 2 glasses of house wine and your waitress said that she had a very similar wine to what we had just had, the wine was not at all similar it was fizzy and very different and quite frankly your reply to my honest review is quite rude. Well never mind we live locally and as you will understand cannot recommend your restaurant to our many friends and family. No problem, don't worry won't see us again. Good luck!!!

We popped in unexpectedly on a Sunday evening and it was surprisingly good! Lovely place and lovely food! We've been in other Portuguese restaurants around and always feel disappointed, but not here! It was delicious and great atmosphere. We will certainly go back and bring some friends as well!

2025: I am lucky enough to be working here again and this is still an amazing find. Tonight I was welcomed back like an old friend. The food remains fabulous. The wine delicious. Still a 5 star experience if you are looking for an off the beaten track independent Portuguese experience. 2024:One of my favourite restaurants. I travel a lot with work and this is a really amazing find. The restaurant is authentically themed Portuguese with a friendly Portuguese family running it. One of the first things you notice is how happy the staff are, although I don't understand Portuguese I can tell the banter is alive! I arrived at 8pm on Tuesday and was seated immediately in their large restaurant. The restaurant is barely visible from the front but the building is like a tardis, once you step inside the size of the place and the authenticity open up before your eyes. On this occasion I had Tuna with chips and salad, previously I had a seafood and rice dish (see photos) called Cateplana. On both occasions the food was perfectly cooked and the portions are phenomenal. I'd say that you should arrive hungry and expect to leave complete! I had the Tuna, salad and chips (14.5) half carafe (50cl) of red wine for 9. Previously, Cateplana for 22, Lg glass of red 6.5. Both excellent value. I look forward to returning very soon.

Unique venue with a unique decoration. Expect a Portuguese wooden country theme. On arrival we weren’t greeted but sat ourselves to a table as the venue was very quiet. I had a chicken based dish and two sides, it was cooked to perfection and the portion was perfect. Everyone loved the food and I’d return again. Be careful of ordering wine, the house red is £14 and increases to ££££. Three mains, olives, calamari, and a bottle of red/ two martinis = just under £90

Very good food and nice atmosphere. I was in the back which was quite quiet, and seemed to be a lot of regulars. There was about a 45-50 minute wait for the starter but the main came quite quickly after. I would visit again although may eat a snack before.
