   Ordered some food to share with the family and was left sorely disappointed. The first time a few months back was a let down but we decided to give it a chance and ordered again today. This time we ordered a lemon chicken, a sweet and sour chicken, and a beef in black pepper sauce. The lemon chicken left a rather sour taste in my mouth...there was a large chunk of chicken which was cremated in a thick crusty batter and then chopped into a few large pieces and then tossed into what was supposed to be lemon sauce but tasted mainly of lemon juice, probably with the intention of destroying our taste buds. The sweet and sour sauce was pretty ok. But the same crusty chunks of poultry was thown in too. There was no care and pride in their food. The meat was rubbery and chewy. Our girls who ordinarily loved sweet and sour left most of their dinner uneaten. I could not taste the pepper spices in the pepper sauce. Maybe my tastebuds died in shock after the attack of the lemon sauce. The beef slices were chewier than rubber tyres and the sauce was bland and unremarkable. Very disappointing.

   Tried this place and honestly, I wish I hadn’t. The beef in pepper sauce? More like beef in gravy, with chunks of rubbery beef that tasted like they’d been zapped in a microwave and left to think about their sins. The sweet and sour sauce was okay, but they just tossed in three boulder-sized chunks of chicken and called it a day. No effort, no love—just drizzle and despair. The lemon chicken was the same sad story: microwaved mediocrity. And the vegetable spring rolls? Fried so hard they probably have a restraining order against heat by now. I came for a meal, but I left with regret.

   Wow. What can I say about this place. 2nd time ordered. First time the food was at best ok. The duck was really bad. Deep fried to crumbs. Definitely will not be quacking again. Decided to order tonight for my daughters birthday. The family chose chinese food. Didn't realise they ordered from here, until they ordered. Anyway. Popped down and took the food home. Not one thing was nice. Lemon chicken was sloppy. The chicken was very touch. Defo microwaved. The spring rolls were deep fried to death. The sweet and sour chicken sauce was nice. But again the chicken was microwaved. The beef and black pepper sauce was just gravey. Clearly everyrhing was just heated up. No care what so ever. Never again will we order.

   Awful experience, Had all the family together on Christmas eve, ordered food for collection, told 1 hour, got there, waited another 40 mins. Got home (15 mins drive each way) wrong food. Went back changed food ( got home, wrong again!!.did not complain a second time.. lost the will will to live.) offered two us 2 cans of coke. Even MacDonald's would have been more customer focused than just two cans of coke it cost more in fuel to drive there and back twice. So we sat down to eat some two and three quarter hours after we first ordered the food. Food not as ordered and tasted poor. As if cooked by someone who does not know what they are doing We have used this place for 38 years and its going down the pan. During the last year the quality of the cooking has deteriorated. Tracy the nice lady on the counter had gone home unfortunately by 9.30 so we had to deal with some one from the back kitchen, who was frankly not bothered that we had been customers for 38 years of this takeaway ( I cannot imagine how much money we have spent there over the years)and that we were never going back. he then offered a "massive discount on our next order" if he was that bothered why did he not offer this on the disaster we had just encountered. We could have complained again when we finally got home for the second time and found that the food was incorrect AGAIN but it was getting on for 10pm and could not be bothered specifically considering we had originally ordered our food at 6.50pm almost 3 hours earlier. We will never use this place again because of this and the fact that our local Chinese has overtaken Loscoe in terms of quality and customer service. We used to drive from Ashby some years ago when we moved there because it was so good but sadly now overtaken by better local competition. Thanks for spoiling our Christmas eve !!!!!
