We went to Carlton for shopping but were delighted to find this friendly independent cafe serving a variety of attractively priced meals. The core menu is Chinese but manager Rachel has clearly done her research and there is plenty for more conservative British tastes. It is child friendly but also has a licence for beer or wine for the grownups. If you don't want to settle for predictable multinational chains of eateries this just the kind of independent you should be supporting.

Recommend the lemon chicken, the nicest I have ever eaten, all cooked fresh, with chips or rice. Also the chicken balls, proper chunks of chicken in a really nice light and crispy batter. I had a set three course menu and the portions were generous. It also has a license for drinks.

I went for lunch and should have walked immediately really! The place is dirty and smells of stale grease! I ordered a coffee and jacket potato. The coffee was the cheapest instant coffee which tasted awful, really bitter, served in a dirty stained cup! I thought maybe I would have more luck with my jacket potato! This was even worse it wasn't cooked properly and was cold and the topping was tuna if you could call it that!! A watery pile of what looked like cat vomit with some stringy cheese and a bit of gone off salad! I couldn't eat it so walked! How they get away with running a business like this is beyond me! It's a shame to write a bad review as the owner seemed nice enough but this is not acceptable when serving members of the public!

Always great food and the menu offers anything from a snack to a variety of main meals. I can highly recommend the Sunday dinners which I often get to take out. Prices are very reasonable for a good portion size. Staff are always friendly and give a great service. It's nice and cosy inside and has a great community vibe. Highly recommend it.

Service was okay but basic ,lacked a price list. Very pricy for two breakfast cobs. Won't be going back unfortunately.
