Excellent service. Makes you proud of or NHS. Nurses there are like angels who understand your situation and put you on ease. Michael was absolutely lovely nurse. I would highly recommend this place if you have any doubts about STI. Results came out in just a couple of days and all clear. Well done NHS well done Fowler centre.
Rang just after 7pm. Says it closes at 8pm. Was on hold for 40 minutes. The automated service said I was first in the queue from the start of the call,up until the end. Nobody answered my call. Very disappointed indeed. Very poor service coming from a sexual health clinic. Ended the call at 8pm. Clearly they aren't open until 8pm. Even though that's the time stated on the Embrace website!
I had to attend for a complex IUD removal, and was extremely anxious after a previous bad experience elsewhere many years ago. I arrived half an hour early but was called in immediately, which really helped as it meant I did not have to sit in the waiting room becoming more agitated. The consultant and nurse who performed the procedure were nothing short of fantastic, they did absolutely everything they could to put me at ease and reassure me (I was a very nervous and jittery patient) and make the whole thing as easy and painless as possible. They made me feel completely in control and empowered, and were kind and considerate but still professional. It was the best experience I could have hoped for in the circumstances.
I think I would have given 5 stars had I not had a similar experience as others in that the phone lines were near impossible to get through on. I was cut off several times. Each time I did speak to someone though they were always helpful and polite. I was booked in for a coil removal as I had been referred by my GP. After reading the reviews online I really didn't know what to expect as a lot of the reviews made it sound horrific. I can honestly say I had a good experience. I arrived for my appointment ten minutes early, I was given my paper work and asked to sit down in the waiting area. The waiting area was very clean. Once I handed my paper work back I was called through within minutes. I was lead into a side room with two members of staff. The nurse took my details and explained the whole procedure to me. I was asked to undress, they gave me privacy to do so and talked me through the whole process. Whilst I was on the bed the nurse explained the sensation I should experience and spoke slowly and calmly as she could see I was anxious. The whole procedure took less than 30 seconds. There was no pain it was just mildly uncomfortable. I was given some follow up advice and sent on my way. The staff I encountered walking through the building were also friendly and approachable and the whole clinic was spotless and they followed covid-19 regulations. I would definitely use this service again.
