Have had a really good experience with Jackson’s Auto Repairs. As a young women, it can be very daunting going to a mechanics since I know absolutely nothing about cars! But they are probably the most genuine mechanics I’ve ever been too and I will continue to use them in the future. Thankyou for being so brilliant!

Brilliant. I needed a coilspring replaced for failed MOT. When I rang, I hadn't mentioned it was urgent and the guy was so friendly and polite. I was happy to book the car in but they had a free slot and asked me to bring the car round. They gave me the cost per hour and an hour and a half later they completed the job. I have no hesitation in recommending the guys at Jackson Auto Repair. They have set a great example of customer service and with that in mind, I'll be using them again. Thankyou guys for your help!

Used these guys for the first time last week to have a DSG gearbox and a Haldex service on my Golf R. Both Stephen and his colleague were friendly and approachable. They have the knowledge and you know you are not dealing with “Cowboys”. Enquiry made in Thursday, car taken in on Friday morning and ready by lunchtime. Picked the car up and it had seat covered, flooring mat, steering wheel and gear leaver covers.. A very professional approach. Being picky i asked for a photo of the Haldex gauze filter to be taken when it was being cleaned, before i even finished my sentence the boys were telling me they do that as part of their service anyway and named the premium oils i was hoping for.. cannot be faulted and will 100% be back for any work i need on any of my vehicles.. My new local independent, trustworthy garage!! Thanks guys!!

Lads where very helpful & good craic. Fixed the car quickly & to a great standard. I've since traded that car in but when my new car needs a service they'll definitely be getting my business & if they need help pushing a broken down van into workshop again I'll be happy to help.

Very professional and friendly service. When I booked my car in for a service, appointment was made quickly and Stephen was extremely helpful and patient in ensuring that I understood service options available in order to pick the most suitable option for my vehicle. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend and I will definitely return in future!

Wanted £600 to drill a hole in my exhaust and remap car computer so it won't check the DPF. Went to Agnew Portdown. Fixed DPF for £220 without putting holes in my car and computer stl perfect.

Top class service. Called in to see if they could help with dull head lights - the guys tested the lights, cleaned, adjusted and fitted new bulb and tested again. All done there and then and then refused payment for the bulb.

Recently moved into the area and was looking for a local trustworthy mechanic to service and check over my car as it was due for MOT. Saw an ad in the Local Shopper leaflet for Jackson Auto Repairs advertising a service and checkover for £119 (photo attached). Phoned to booked my car in and stated that I had seen their ad in the Local Shopper. On the day my car was serviced, I received a phone call from Jackson Autos stating that the car needed 2 new front springs at a cost of £120 and two droplinks which would be £20. I told them to go ahead and carry out the work then asked what the total bill would be. They stated that the total bill was £353. I was a little confused as £140 on top of the advertised £119 for the service and check over would be £259. I queried this on the phone and was told that the service actually cost £140 and the MOT check was not included as part of the service and they were charging me a further £48 for it. I contacted the Local Shopper and spoke to the man who deals with Jackson Auto Repairs and he confirmed that his understanding of the advertisement was that the service and MOT check should be carried out for £119 and he advised me to again make reference to the advertisement when picking the car up and ask them to adjust the bill accordingly. When I went to collect my car and queried the bill, I was told that the checkover referred to in the advertisement relates to a ‘visual’ checkover and that this was stated in the ad. I have since check the ad and there is no mention of a ‘visual’ checkover. In any case, £48 seems rather expensive for an MOT check considering an actual MOT takes 10-15 minutes to carry out. I told him that I made reference to the advertisement when booking my car in and I was not advised at that time that the MOT check would not be covered in the price. He claimed to remember our conversation (even though the car was booked in around 3 weeks prior to the service) and said that he did tell me that the MOT check would be a separate cost. He did not. After trying to reason with him and listening to a lot of excuses, I resigned myself to the fact that I was just going to have to pay the £353 to get my car back. When he brought the card machine over to me he stated “That there's actually cheap so it is. If you phone round any other mechanics and get quotes for that work you’d pay double the price!”. There really is no point trying to reason with someone that comes off with nonsense like that. At the end of the day, they have lost themselves what would have been a retuning customer for many years. Next year I will go that extra distance and take my car to the mechanic I have used for years and know I can trust.
