It just isn't clean. Tools aren't sterilised and it doesn't seem cleaned from the previous client. The cuticle remover was absolutely disgusting and the only way to describe it is crusty. They are also very tough when filing and not gentle at all.
Had the most awful experience today, firstly the place is so unclean and smells really bad secondly the man doing my nails was so rude he made my nail beds bleed a total of 4 times and I kept asking him to be gentle and was just ignored, my nails where long and asked for a builder gel infil with pink chrome , definitely not what I got i will add a picture unless you want a nail infection please don't go here I wish I had listened to the reviews before I went , it is that BAD!
Came here as my usual nail shop was too busy and the service was terrible the man was yanking my fingers instead of asking me to move them and was very rough and has damaged my nail bed. Then on top of this two different sized nails were put on my middle fingers which was very visible and 2 different shades of pink put on my thumbs, so I asked for it to be fixed and was told to come back later which I could not do so I asked for a refund if they won't fix my nails I was offered £10 on a £38 set. I declined and said it needs fixing if they won't refund and they eventually fixed it but were very rude about it and then spoke about me in their own language which was very obvious as they kept saying the word "refund" then looking at me and talking.
Firstly; I never leave bad reviews and I debated leaving this but my experience here was awful. Let’s start with I popped in and asked how long the wait was, I was told 10 minutes, it was 25 minutes before I was seated. The older guy cannot do nails, he does not know what he is doing and lacks training. He was over-filing on the right side of my nails more than the left so they were almost leaning, so I pointed it out and he claimed he couldn’t understand me, I explained and showed him 4 times and asked if he could even them out, I was so shocked that he offered me the file TO FILE MY OWN NAILS 3 times!! He didn’t check the length or width were even, I had to show him that they weren’t and near the end, when he had left the table for the 3rd time, I did file my one nail myself to sort it out. I also asked for coffin shape and they are not coffin shape by anyone’s standards. I told him I was unhappy all the way through the appointment and explained why to give him chance to rectify it, I still paid full price and declined the offer of the loyalty card as there is no way I would ever return. I understand mistakes can happen but this is offering a service that he is unable to perform. The atmosphere is tense, they don’t talk to customers, there’s very very low music, almost silent.
I wanted something special for my son's recent wedding. I said what I wanted and didn't want each nail the same. I got each nail the same and the finish was awful. I said I wasn't happy but all I got was silence. I paid and left and immediately went across the road to the other nail bar in Heanor and had my nails redone. Will definitely go there again as the result was fabulous unlike what was done by Anerican Nails.

Been going 3 months now and nails are outstanding everytime. They last a good 3/4 weeks before needing infils.
Always have my nails done here! Highly recommend
Friendly atmosphere, however the quality of the nails are not great. The gel polish ended up being see through when I looked in natural light, each nail was a different shape and the technician smudge three of my nails and I did not notice until I had left the salon.
