I was 10 minutes late for my treatment because of an accident on the motorway and they refused to not only take me but also reschedule my appointment. I’ve been here for a good few appointments before but I won’t be back. It’s nice to be nice ! These treatments are costly
Am I the only one who finds the counter staff quite cold—almost unpleasant? I’ve never found them particularly friendly on any of my visits, which is why I felt compelled to write a review. When I walked in today to buy a gift voucher and said “Good morning,” there were no smiles, just a blunt, “Do you have an appointment?” After completing the purchase, I was met with an equally cold, “Do you want to buy a gift bag for 60 pence?” Given the nature of the business, I would recommend having a more personable member(s) of staff at the front desk. First impressions do last I can only hope the spa treatment itself is more pleasant.
As a man who doesn’t have a spray tan done often. I was made to feel incredibly at ease. Each step was communicated. Edel has great knowledge, experience of this treatment and because of this I was very happy with the result. Thank you and I will return.. Darren..
Chloe was my therapist and she is such a lovely lady. Very friendly and very professional. Did everything exactly how I like and I can highly recommend her. She made my appointment fly by and waxing was very comfortable. Great experience. Thanks.
Been going for back stress massages with Marion- absolutely brilliant. Everyone there has been super friendly and as soon as you enter, it smells AMAZING.
**Update** I suffer from an extremely debilitating chronic illness / disability which is why I’ve been using Aura for many, many years now for physical maintenance and self care. Unfortunately I can not plan for flare ups which leave me bedridden. Sadly this happened on Monday and my mother had to call to ask for a reschedule for me explaining how ill I was. This was a few hours prior to my appointment time, granted not the 24hrs - which was impossible given Sunday opening hours. I received a voicemail that same day advising me that the proprietor has taken the full value of my £70 voucher for this, reiterating that I understood that there were NO remaining funds on it. I am disgusted. To take £70 off a disabled customer because of their disability is simply criminal. I would understand a small charge but £70 is both unreasonable and highly inappropriate. I have another voucher but am so upset about this I am reluctant to use it or gift it to someone else given the greed and appalling attitude of this proprietor. It’s despicable how in the midst of a cost of living crisis, they don’t realise how important regular customers are - my son, daughter, mother and friends all use this business because I’ve bought them vouchers and they have continue book in for treatments. I intend to give my custom to the many other spa businesses and promise to be very vocal on the many disability and chronic illness forums, all of whom go to great lengths to promote businesses that aid greater wellness and physical health maintenance inline with equality of service through understanding and awareness, not those capitalising on the misfortune of others. I do not recommend this business. I love massages, they’re my favourite hobby and I can honestly say that that was the best massage that I have ever had. The therapist knew exactly where I needed the most work on my back and knew exactly how to remove the numerous knots. Can’t wait until my next one and I’ll definitely be booking the same lady! They did not honour any vouchers that were bought in December 2019 for my mother. We have been using them for many years buying vouchers for both mothers, having family days out etc... Having been one of the few services that were shut the majority of time during lockdown and one of the last to reopen they refused to honour them. This was a company who would have been entitled to compensation through all of the applicable covid grants. This particular one was worth £100. This voucher had a validity of 12 months however between December 2019 and September 2021 the business had not been open a significant amount of time, they were most likely only open approximately four months. My sister spoke to them and the response was rude, unprofessional, curt and unbusiness like. I don't like leaving poor reviews but I do not like my mum nor my sister being disrespected. I understand and appreciate that many businesses had a tough time but we paid for a service, the least they could have done was honour it at a time convenient to them.
Reposting as they delete bad reviews: I went to Aura spa to do my toenails and hand nails. Unfortunately, I have to say the result of my nails was very disappointing. The lady didn’t even cut the cuticle and gave unequal shape to the nails. On my toes, she didn’t cut, filed or gave any shape to my nails, they are not even completely painted. I found the charging price quite scandalous (£71) taking into account the poor professionalism of the service. Furthermore, I booked a fast tan (you can shower hours after)however, the lady applied an overnight tan, which I discovered just after the spray was applied as I had to ask the lady when could I shower it off.
First visit today with Marian for a back tension massage. 25 mins of relaxation, Marian was excellent. Enjoyed it that much I booked a course. Thank you so much, Marian, I’ll see you again soon
