Disgusting!! Fobbed off multiple times when ringing up about my nephew having an abcess and infection. FINALLY was seen after paying private prices for a child that was ment to be NHS.. told by the dentist that must of gained his qualifications from a back alley surgeon that he had no infection and just needed a filling! Well low and behold nephew has now been admitted into hospital on IV antibiotics awaiting for 4 teeth to be removed and an abcess drained . !! Would advise against going here unless you want to play Russian roulette with the award being possible sepsis . Now left a distress pregnant mother having to leave one young distressed child at home with father whilst looking after the other other young distressed veryvscared child in hospital!! Only useful thing these dentists would be any good for is if they went back to the era of grave robbing the deads teeth .!!

I am extremely disappointed with the service provided by Spa Dental. I contacted them today as an emergency for my daughter, who is in severe pain due to an abscess in one of her teeth. This is the third time I’ve contacted them about the same issue. Her dentist referred us to the Plymouth Community Dental Services, where some crowns were placed and extractions were done. However, the last crown couldn’t be fitted because a nearby filling had settled between the teeth, making it impossible to complete the procedure. We are now waiting for an appointment on June 19th for a dentist to review the case and decide how to proceed. In the meantime, the abscess has returned, and my daughter is once again in pain. Following the dentist’s initial advice, I contacted Spa Dental again today, as she had said they could do the extraction if the pain returned and the process was taking too long. However, over the phone I was told to contact the other dental service first, and only if they couldn’t help, to call back. I did exactly that — I called them twice, but no one answered, and I was only met with an automated message saying there were no available staff. I then called Spa Dental again to explain this, but was told, once again, that I had to speak to the other clinic before they could book an appointment. I tried to explain that no one is answering, and I didn’t want to leave my child in pain any longer, but they were unwilling to help. I asked directly: “So you’re telling me I should let my child suffer in this condition?” and the answer I received was, “Unfortunately, we can’t book an appointment unless you speak to them first.” I then said I would have to find another dentist to perform the extraction, to which the receptionist simply replied, “That’s not a problem.” I find it shocking how slow and unresponsive this entire process has been — especially when it involves a child in pain. There seems to be a complete lack of respect for the child’s suffering or the parents’ concern. My daughter trusted her dentist, and now she’s been left disappointed and in pain. We are deeply let down by this experience.

I was very nervous about going to the dentist - I hadn’t been in 4 years (I used to go every 3-6 months before the pandemic). I honestly thought my gums and teeth had gone beyond repair in that time. The dentist who saw me went through my X-rays with me in detail and totally put me at ease. He was fairly sure that the deterioration I had allowed to happen could be contained, and outlined a treatment plan that I was happy with. I came away feeling very positive.

I was removed from being an NHS patient which was disappointing but, understandable. (I wouldn't work for less money either if I could help it) However, they have taken me on as a private patient and tbh, I don't think the prices are too bad. I see a Dentist called Dianne whom I like and trust.

Waited months and months for a child dental checkup after the Covid. 3 years after the last dental check up and after few cancellation from them, finally got an appointment at 3:40pm. Got their 6 min late due to traffic. And dentist refused to see. Every time for any appointment we have to wait 20-30 minutes but for 6 mins late was refused even when they could see the child was in school uniform.

My husband arrived in Plymouth after travelling from Santander, Spain with a suspected abscess and terrible pain. We walked into the surgery and asked for an emergency appointment. The receptionist was fantastic and so kind, the dentist was extremely helpful and both dealt with him really well. First class service, thank you. The antibiotics are working and he is on the mend

De-registered as an NHS patient, with no explanation to why other than the need to ‘reduce their NHS client database’ Before this, every appointment I booked was cancelled. I will have no choice but to seek private dental treatment, however it will not be with this practice as I do not believe they show the same level of service to NHS patients as to private customers, and are more interested in money. While I can afford to pay for private treatment there are many who can’t, and I believe dental practices should be treating both NHS and private patients in a fair and equitable manner, and the values of this practice do not align with my own.
