I had my hair cut with Sue here today - as someone with curly hair I have been repeatedly traumatised, even with specific curly cuts I've always been disappointed but Sue did an amazing job actually listened to me, and for the first time EVER a hairdresser has done a better job of styling my curls than I can do.
I absolutely love David & David and I'm so glad I've discovered them. I've had two specialist curly cuts now, my most recent with Phoebe who was so lovely and friendly and professional. I felt she really listened to me and didn't rush me. She explained everything she was doing and the whole experience was so relaxing and pleasant. After years of other hair stylists insisting I straighten my hair for them to cut it and never knowing how to cut curls, I finally have found a place where the stylists ACTUALLY know and specialise in curly hair. I'll always come here for my haircuts.

I never write bad reviews about anything but this hair salon messed up my hair so badly, on two seperate occasions they bleached my already-bleached hair and damaged it to the point it couldn’t take colour, and expected me to leave the salon like this and come in for a glaze toner on a different day. During today’s appointment, I was there for 7 hours, when the ends came out blonde and the top was ginger they told me just to cut it off, I had to run out of the salon to go to the other end of town to buy hair dye, and then when this was applied and my hair was two different colours (red at the bottom) , they told me there was nothing I could do and just to apply the colour at home. *In response to their reply* I requested for them to bleach my ROOTS only, I did not want them to bleach the ends of my hair nor did I request it, but they insisted on doing it anyway. This picture was from my previous appointment, but what I was saying was that I was expected to leave the salon like that. Not being charged doesn’t negate the face I’ve got damage to my hair that will take months to repair.
Today I had a curly cut and colour with Gemma. The head massage I received was epic and so relaxing. I came out a completely new person! I have never seen my hair like this before. I loved seeing Digby the dog who is an absolute delight. I highly recommend Gemma from David & David if you have curly hair you will be amazed at how curly your hair can go!! Thanks, I’ll be back :)
Brilliant experience. I am normally not keen on the hairdresser but Sue and the other staff made me feel comfortable and she gave me a great hair cut.
An excellent salon in Plymouth city centre. It is very friendly and comfortable and the stylists are lovely. Becky is my stylist and she always gives me a great cut. I highly recommend David & David
As a curly girl, this is the only place I will go for a hair cut. I would definitely recommend a visit. Prices are reasonable too.
