This Tesco Extra is more of a Tesco Slightly More small compact and focused on the essentials. But for what it is, it does a cracking job. The shelves are decently stocked. You will find your basics like milk bread biscuits toothpaste and emergency sandwiches, all the stuff that keeps a household vaguely functional. It is reasonably well organised too so you will not need a GPS to find the teabags. The staff are the highlight. Genuinely helpful, polite, and actually know where things are. No vacant stares or disappearing into the back room when you ask where the loo roll lives. You get real humans who are clearly trained present and decent at their jobs. It's a rare thing these days. The place is clean, tidy, and well kept. You are not dodging rogue lettuce leaves or sticky patches from ancient spillage. So far, so good. Now the parking In theory, there is a car park. In practice, no one uses it. Instead, people have developed a charming new system of parking on the pavement like it is a runway for badly aimed shopping trolleys. This means if you are in a wheelchair or pushing a buggy, congratulations, you now have to play a game of How Close Can You Get To Oncoming Traffic Without Dying And the paving It is had enough. The cobbles are loose wobbly and threatening to form sinkholes. It is less path and more toddler trap. But nothing, nothing, compares to the ongoing fire alarm fiasco. For reasons known only to the ghost of Health and Safety Past, the fire panel occasionally decides to go rogue and locks the front doors. Just randomly. No warning. You are shopping for beans one minute, and the next, you are part of a psychological thriller titled Exit Denied This has been going on since the store opened. If there were ever an actual fire Well Good luck. Bring a sledgehammer and a strong sense of calm. So here is the summary Great staff tidy little store good for essentials But watch your ankles on the pavement bring climbing gear if you are mobility impaired, and maybe do not visit if you have even the slightest fear of being locked inside a building with a malfunctioning fire system. Would I shop here again? Yes, but only if I have already made peace with my maker.

Never anyone on the tills and the staff are always on the shop floor stocking the shelves. The entrance is often locked with an alarm going off every few minutes before the doors opening. On the plus side the staff are friendly. Could be better managed by the store manager!

This is a superstore in the guise of a Tesco Express! Well done to those who employ the best stock determining methods. There is virtually nothing you don't get here! Today, I found gluten free flour against my wildest expectation! (I couldn't find it earlier in the day at the big Sainsbury Store, Marshmills!!) They have surprised me in the past too. Hallelujah! Long live the Mount Wise Tesco Extra!

Have to say I find this a really helpful community shop. Benjamin the assistant has excellent customer service and trust me having been well travelled an employee like that is worth his weight in gold. Shop is well stocked and virtually no weights for counter service.

Great having a Tesco to hand but since opening littering around the cricket ground has increased, also customers are not using the visitors car park. Accident waiting to happen.

I really welcome this new neighbourhood facility. It is the largest grocery shop in the area and sells everything you expect from Tesco. I wish it was a locally owned store selling local products but I am not sure I could afford to shop there if that were the case. I hope this will mean fewer trips for me to the big supermarkets so that is environmentally friendly.
