Went in for coffee and cake stop off whilst in town. We have specific dietary requirements and when I queried if there were any cakes that suited our requirements the staff were so helpful in checking items and even looking in the back for further cakes for us, coming out with a list of what was suitable. Great experience of staff who seem to want to genuinely help, and great cake!

Went in for lunch. The service was ok but the food was mediocre at best, they had run out of some items, and there were real problems with the drinks. The food was roadside cafe quality, all white sliced bread and really greasy, but priced like a much higher-end establishment. The flat whites were only slightly warm and had barely any coffee in. The hot chocolate was also under heated and not very chocolatey. This isn't somewhere we'll be going back to. Such a shame, as it used to be a great place before it changed hands.

We had no idea this place was opposite the Cathedral. Only noticed it as we walked passed the corner and noticed all the garden furniture initially hidden by the wall. Decided to give it a try as we were desperate for a coffee and something to eat. We sat in the delightful little conservatory/atrium at the rear, which looks out over the main garden area. Noticed that I was seated in the aptly named 'Naughty Corner'. The whole interior is quite stunning and worth a visit simply to check it out. Coffee satisfactory, but the scone, although a decent size to share, was a bit on the dry side. I was a bit torn in deciding if it warranted five stars, then noticed the 'CASH ONLY' sign. Oh dear - an automatic deduction.

Arrived at this wonderful location located just across the road from the cathedral. Have to say not an extensive menu. Had the poached eggs on toast added mushrooms as well and my friend had cheese and pickle sandwich with a side of chips The food was beautiful and the eggs cooked to perfection. They have a wonderful selection of cakes and scones as well. You can even sit in the naughty corner if you can find it! Really would recommend a visit here.

Took over 50 minutes for food to arrive, was told 15 to 20 minutes at order. Ordered hot drinks to have with food, they arrive shirtly after so were drunk so they didnt go cold. Food was cold. Quarn sausages werent Quarn. Over cooked and were solid. Toast was malted bread, should of been sourdough. For a expensive brackfast, id expect it good. Absoloute let down. Waiter staff were freindly, but clearly in that much of a rush they couldnt think straight with customers requests of salt, sauces ect. Outside 6 tables were all just stairing at the conservatory door awaiting food, and 3 tables that ordered well after us had their food well before us. Want to waste your time and money? Visit this place.

Delicious food, in a beautiful surrounding. Staff were friendly too. Lovely added gem just at the side of cathedral. I do think the food was over priced got charged £10 for 6 slices of bread and butter to go with our bowl of "chunky chips" which came out as fries and they were £3 a bowl. I think in future il stick to the homemade scones and a cuppa tea. Good selection of homemade cakes & pastries which we had some of there after our extortionate chip butties

First the good things, I really like the decor here, they have smartened the place up and given some lovely touches with things like the ladder on the conservatory (shame the plants aren't real!), bike in the hallway and other period touches. Service was good and the food tasty. Garden was good and loved the benches outside with their own environment. Improvements could be more substantial choice of main meals with more imagination in them, then would be five stars, but overall worth a visit.

Fantastic lunch with my mom! Went in here to get something small to eat for lunch, ended up having the best ham baguette with salad and chips ever. The salad was fresh and very well presented. We sat in the greenhouse area that has 3 table's of 2. Fantastic communication from staff and they were happy to help make me the perfect order because I'm always fussy. Very much will be going back here. A*****
