it's liveable and the food is usually edible but it's DEFINITELY not worth the Β£250 a week, especially if your room/block is in a noisy location such as next to the kitchen or your neighbours are party animals (which is very likely). Another thing to note is that the majority of the residents here are Londoners from private schools and if you're from a more economically disadvantaged background, you may feel more isolated and make fewer friends.

Probably the best hall on campus out of the options (aside from nightingale that one is very nice) Spacious rooms, food not too bad, and itβs situated right in the middle of campus so very convenient. Residents from other halls often come here for breakfast and dinner. The staff are also very nice and helpful. Things to note: - the bar is permanently closed along with all the other bars in halls outside of Derby hall. This is not made clear on the website. - the common rooms are usually empty and are in a messy state, most people socialise within their block or during dinner - only one formal during the year, would have appreciated more though it was provided for free which was good - no communal spaces in the blocks or generally anywhere outside of the unused common rooms - previous reviews talk about the lunch options, the hall no longer does lunch - evident hall used to be a lot better with much more activity but this is no longer the case post covid. This seems to be the case with all the catered halls as of recent not just cripps.

For student accommodations, this is the best. Situated perfectly on University Park, the student union is a 5 minute walk, the gym (free with active living through University Accommodation) is a 10 minute walk and Jubilee Campus is a 10 minute bus ride. Catered food is good, staff are friendly and helpful and you are given a Β£25 allowance per week to spend on additional snacks. The rooms are also large and have a mini fridge and sink. Any issues maintenance quickly resolves.

The uni is fantastic. Went to visit my son at the end of his first year. He's had a fantastic time at Cripps. Beautiful campus.

Absolutely love it, food is much better than everyone says. Veggie options are so good inc tofu a lot. Shame about the queue and having to pay on the weekend for brunch ⦠poor. Cripps Bar is closed⦠heartbreaking. The staff are really friendly compared to other halls. Overall a 9.5/10 the chefs are legends

The best food on campus served in Hogwarts hall. This is the only place I'll eat lunch on campus. Edit Oct 2022: Cripps is now closed for lunch. Food was also taking a downturn later last year.

Basic but adaptable but set in lovely grounds and a food hall that will take you back to Hogwarts :)

Large rooms with 3/4 beds and mini fridges, old but very well maintained and homely. Food hall felt a bit like Hogwarts.
