   Lovely time meandering along the River Trent from Newark Castle Lock to Farndon. Plenty to look put for, flocks of geese, cows/calves paddling to cool off, horses/foals and various moorhens, coots etc. The Town Lock is an interesting experience if you've never been through one before, the marinas are great for looking at hugely expensive river craft, and there's the power station and little weir on route. The Sonnett has plenty of outdoor seating and comfy inside lounge, bar, snacks etc all very reasonable prices. We took a picnic. Toilets etc all great. Lovely friendly staff. Great outing for a sunny afternoon. £5 per child, £15 per (oldie) adult for nearly 2 hours, so not bad value in todays world. I believe they do evenings entertainment trips too.

   Having been on this trip before and really enjoying it, I turned up with my grandchildren only to find that trips had been cancelled from 21st July - 2nd Aug. Very disappointing as I'd checked their website before leaving home, no mention of cancellations. Unfortunately, we were jot the only people to be disappointed that day.

   I checked their website before setting out this morning showing sailings at 1 and 3 got there at 12.30 after driving over 100 miles to find that they had cancelled the 1pm sailing. There were several other very disappointed pensioners who had also travelled by car and train all very annoyed

   This is a great way to spend a leisurely 90 minutes. Great exposure to nature along the river and cruiser is well equipped with a bar. Very helpful and considerate staff. Great value for money. Even passed our house!!

   It was a lovely experience to ride on the Sonning today. Kept shaded on board as very hot outside. Price was good value for the 1 and a half hour trip. Views of river and wildlife fabulous. Ice creams and snacks were enjoyed by all. Male and Female toilet available. Thanks to the staff, a lovely ride on a well cared for boat.
