3 day migraine/ cluster headache in October, had to go no choice. 7h wait then told 24h for a bed, discharged myself. Had to come back due to immense pain continued, 31 hour wait under the lights, heat, noise worsening migraine and chrinic illness. All for a goni injection, no oral medication helped, unable to have morphine that was offered. Told by neurology back log cannot be scheduled in, doctor who administered the injection in a+e said he'd put me on the books as I meet all criteria and so that this doesn't happen again, did not happen. Also had bloods taken first day and no one told me I was positive for covid, I knew already by how much pain I was in as I have long covid, I didn't want to infect others, but was told to go to a+e regregardless because of the pain i was in for 3 days. I had to ask on my second admission what my blood results were, else I'd have never been told. The 31h wait was also not recorded, only the 7h. Funny that. I hope I never have to go back

If il rate lower il would.... DERRIFORD YOU NEED TO GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER.... no communication, no one listen, no one around, everytime we go to desk saying she needs fluids " the doctor be there soon " Well she still there now and not seen anyone My daughter has a feeding tube and it has split, a&e thinks okey to leave you there for 15 hrs with no fluids and let her dehydration Never came across a disgusting untidy with stringes and needles left over the floor, what if people who suffer with mental health and are self harmers, Quick excess to pick it up and do damage to there self.... Please give your head a wobble and open your eyes and smell the coffee.. You are neglecting my daughter.....

Unfortunately I can’t leave a lower amount of stars I’ve never seen such horrendous treatment in an A and E or hospital in general. Not only do you not receive the duty of care while waiting for however long (over 5 hours for pain meds only after asking multiple time how long they would be) but there is 0 communication. Not once was a doctor seen on this visit to discuss results of blood test, samples or scans after being here for near 24 hours didn’t do the scans that was told where being done and after one scan and hours of waiting was discharged none the wiser and receiving no care. Have also been told that none of the records will be sent to primary gp due to not being happy with the care received.

I'm on holiday in Devon, and really needed a dentist, after trying more than 5 for a emergency appointment with no luck I had to go to A & E. I've got to say that all the staff where fantastic, so a big thank you to you all. Now on antibiotics for my swollen face. Hopefully I'll be able to enjoy the rest of my holiday now. X

Staff were amazing, I can't fault them. Very helpful, amazing care . But waiting time, the worst I have seen. 7h in total. 6h waiting to he seen, 1h to get medication!

Thank you to all the staff at Derriford A&E! My other half went to A&E with excruciating abdominal pain along with other symptoms. Triaged, regularly seen, X ray / blood / urine tests done and results had, IV drugs we needed as a result done. All done within 6 hours - impressive. Everyone we saw was lovely and efficient, they really listened. Staff doing their very best in impossible circumstances - it’s not their fault they’re over worked and vastly underfunded by the Government.

the A&E department including resus, reception and majors were absolutely incredible, after struggling for years and being told my symptoms were all in my head the Entire A&E team listened to me, reassured me, took me seriously, ran the correct testing and within 3 hours had a diagnosis, treatment plan & referral to a specialist in place- I will always hold gratitude towards those who treated me as now I finally have answers and can get the treatment I need to make my life that little bit easier!

Having heard horror stories of long wait times I was apprehensive about going in (after being referred by the Cumberland Centre with a ruptured achilles) , but have nothing but praise for the amazing team on this morning. From the ladies who greeted and assisted me at the entrance to the two nurses I saw (one of whom wheeled me out and waited until my husband collected me) were outstanding. Thank you.
