   My whole experience from start to finish having cataract surgery was excellent, from the reception to each test , which were all explained to me by the caring staff on my initial appointment. I was very nervous but was put at ease by everyone especially on the day of surgery. The surgeon Mr.Cudrnak let me know what he was doing through the operation. I was given a welcome drink and a biscuit afterwards and when I was ready was escorted to reception to my waiting son. The cleanliness was second to non and I had a telephone call the next to check I was ok. Thank you to everyone

   Delighted that I was able to go to Newmedica for my cataract ops as all the staff were brilliant, friendly and superbly competent. The follow up phone calls were as promised and I cannot recommend them highly enough and if you are offered Newmedica as an option to have your cataract ops carried out then I would not hesitate to accept.

   Just had my second Cataract operation and just so grateful to all the staff at Newmedica. Excellent support and service in a wonderful clinic. The surgical team are extraordinary. Fifty years ago, i'd have been blind at 58. Modern medical care and surgery at its finest . Highly recommended.

   My experience at Newmedica was impressive. New building very clean and most importantly the nurses and doctors very kind and approachable. My cataract operation was successful and painless with no irritation. That eye has sight now better than the other eye which had cataract operation 6 years ago. No need to say ‘keep smiling’ !

   I tried to respond to Newmedica using their "patient -feedback" form but it fails to work i.e. you can't make any entries, scroll or do anything - it is static. The service I received when visiting to have laser treatment for cataract removal was first class. All of the people I saw were friendly, very helpful and efficient. I would ask Newmedica to consider compiling a Patients Information Sheet to be handed to them, together with a copy of the excellent RNIB booklet about cataracts, upon leaving following treatment. I would have appreciated receiving such a form with paragraphs headed something like "What procedure have we carried out today", "Do I need to go back to my surgery, optician or hospital for further attention to my eyes?", "If I am still experiencing floaters after ---- days should I notify Newmedica, my GP or optician?", "Do I need a new eye test and possibly a new prescription?" All of the above need to be written in layman's terms i.e. no medical terminology which patients will not understand. One final point - I was handed a form which I imagine is a copy of the form which Newmedica send to the people who referred me. This contains terminology which few patients will understand and although one could assume that the parts which have not been completed mean no treatment is needed one could also wonder if the person who filled in the form was interrupted and forgot to complete it! I hope Newmedica find my remarks constructive and worth consideration - they in no way detract from my decision to award them five stars for what I consider to be an excellent service. Tony
