Avoid and stick to the well known brands! Ive had the smartcaddy trolley for less than 2 years now and the wheel clutches have gone faulty 3 times, the front tyre completely fallen apart twice and the whole trolley is very flimsy. No real warranty on the product and frankly not suitable for a golf course. I have a very old motocaddy in the garage and that is a much better trolley and still fully works, only bought the smartcaddy as like the design but turns out to be a waste of money.

It was bought as my 50th birthday present for me by my wife after 2 1/2 years the bottom frame bracket cracked and although still under warranty all I got was anyone who does TIG welding can fix that for you!! If you want to return it the box is £40 plus postage. The first remote died after a little over a year. The trolley died on me last Saturday and I’m giving it to a friend for spares for his. A shame I love the design but it just doesn’t last. My old motocaddy S1 now 8 years old that I sold to a friend is still going strong. I’ve replaced it with a powakaddy

Ordered a new small tyre for my Smartcaddy trolley, advised Re fitting by Mike. It arrived today and is now in place. Many thanks Mike.

If I could give zero stars I would. The product is flimsy-, the wheels and motor making significant noise after 9 months use. The upper bracket now has significant play. The battery charger failed after 13 months. The owner "Mike" is unhelpful in the extreme. I would advise very strongly NOT to buy this product- destined for recycle junk soon

Recently bought the SC301ER trolley. It's a stylish well made machine. It came with all the accessories included & at a price that puts the bigger brands to shame. It came within 2 days of being ordered. Happy buyer

SMARTCADDY REVIEW Smartcaddy SC301E - Space Black – Purchased 23 July 2013 The following comments refer to my personal experience following the purchase of the Smartcaddy SC301E in July 2013 and relate to an average weekly use of twice weekly for just under 5 years. A complete failure of the electric golf trolley’s main structural member that supports the golf bag occurred on 15th May 2018 The fracture occurred at an area of high bending stress, which appears to have resulted from a hole where the control cable enters this tubular member. A hole at this location creates a Stress Intensification Factor (SIF) - this will magnify the calculated stress levels and in my case, led to a complete fracture. The nature of this fracture also appears to exhibit a crystallisation structure, which leads me to speculate that the material of this member is brittle. This in conjunction with the SIF combined with fatigue can (as here) lead to a limited life before complete failure occurs. I explained all of the above to Smartcaddy Ltd and I suggested the failure, which occurred in less than 5 years, resulted from a design fault and therefore the manufacturer should replace the relevant components free of charge. However Smartcaddy Ltd. were very unsympathetic to this. Their response was that as the trolley was out of the twelve month warranty period I would need to pay for the replacement part(s) at a cost of £128 including P&P. Furthermore, I would also have to install the replacement part(s) myself. In addition to this significant failure, I have had in total of two replacement battery chargers which failed during this time. One replaced free of charge the other cost £34.45 including P&P. Finally, it is not possible to fit Hedgehog wheels to the front of this model of trolley as increasingly required by some Golf Clubs during winter conditions. Therefore from my personal experience I cannot recommend purchasing the SmartCaddy SC301E.
