Veronica and her team are super. First and foremost, they managed to sort myself, my partner and our dog a sensational property to call home in the midst of a genuine housing crisis . So for those of you who are still in the throes of housing uncertainty, please stick at it, and keep in touch with Veronica, because something will come up. It’s a tough road but remain positive and patient.
Having worked in agency in the past myself, I believe it’s the personable attitude that Veronica and her team have that set them apart and make them a success. From being on both ends of the phone myself, a corporate and fairly non committal attitude lures prospective tenants into false senses of security only to fall from a great height. Having at the time being on the cusp of genuine homelessness, Veronica had a property that she thought might be suitable for us and got us in for a viewing (not easy at the moment for pet owners like ourselves). Now usually as many will know, if you like a property you are likely to be in competition with several other potential applicants, so even if you submit an application, you are far from guaranteed to get the let. Veronica’s system does seem to work in a different way to cater for individual circumstances, and with thousands of people in a sticky situation with housing that is no easy feat. It does feel like somehow Veronica and her team, among the thousands, are able to identify individual needs and urgencies to help us all find homes in the nick of time.
It’s is definitely worth mentioning that individual circumstances and desperation for a home vary and those who are genuinely driving around with tents in their cars are likely to take priority over others who have stable housing but are simply unhappy with it. Lettings agents bare a massive brunt of tenant angst and frustration which is unfair given that they are trying to be the problem solvers for thousands of people - your time will come; patience and understating are necessary virtues.
In summary, in a time where there needs to be serious government intervention to help the cost of living and housing crises, Veronica and her team are doing everything and anything - working late, weekends, bank holidays - to help those of us in need. From our experience, I feel that when it really came down to the wire for us, we felt like we were a priority and a solution was presented to us with the utmost urgency with no sense of false hope. Thank you Your Home let, you really saved our bacon!
