The campus and buildings are genuinely impressive, but unfortunately thatβs where the positives end. I was enrolled as a postgraduate student and left after only a short period. What was most concerning, however, was the level of administrative dysfunction throughout the entire process. I effectively had to project-manage my own withdrawal. At every stage, basic actions required repeated chasing, written follow-ups, and formal complaints. I even had to contact senior management just to obtain confirmation that my fee payment plan had been cancelled, something that should have been handled automatically. What should have been straightforward processes became unnecessarily stressful and time-consuming. For a large university, this level of poor coordination and lack of accountability is unacceptable. Facilities alone do not make a good student experience β administration and support matter just as much, and in my case they fell far short.

Completed my Masters degree here, coming back as an alumni after a break from my undergraduate. Lectures all brilliant and i can not fault the faculty whole will be teaching you (social sciences). However, the administration here is completely useless, with the finance department being completely inept and severely unqualified for their respected roles. As a returning student alumni are given a 20% discount on tuition fees for returning to continue studying at the university. This is a simple calculation that should be conducted automatically for those eligible. However, upon reattending I quickly noticed my fees were significantly higher than I had calculated for the year and it appeared the alumni discount have been forgotten. After about just under 30 minutes on the phone this has been amended before i started my course. This didn't last however as i noticed my fees jump back up for the term period during the notification emails for upcoming fees. When I tried connecting to the financial department, I had multiple individuals tell me conflicting information. The first struggled to figure out what 80% of overall tuition fee was, reiterating the wrong full tuition amount to me 5 times before I had to walk them through how to calculate the correct percentage. At this point they could see there was an error and transferred me forward. The second was arguably worst than the first telling me i wasn't even enrolled at the university despite already attending lectures for the year, claiming i was signed up for the year prior and would need to be pushed forward to someone else to amend the incorrect registration. This was insane to me as there is literally no way to register for a prior year at the university if the courses have already ended and enrolment would need to adhere to the current year of studies. The third person was hirer up as they sounded significantly older than the previous two but was considerably the most abrasive and ignorant. Upon telling this individual my reason for calling was to do with incorrect tuition fees, however now i have also been told i am not even registered for the year i am attending university, they were completely dumbfounded. They immediately tried to claim i was confused about finance and confused about my own enrolment as i reiterated the information i had just been given from a prior staff member. They continued to claim i was confused as i had to slow-walk them through the process of ended up on their line, to the point their previous colleague had fiddled around with my own enrolment with the university. Again, this person was completely lost on the alumni discount and kept claiming i was confused over enrolment when i kept reiterating the colleague before them had told me i am not even enrolled. This person kept claiming i didn't know what was going on and i kept reiterating to them i have not been discounted the 20% i am eligible for, and now i have to go through you to ensure i am enrolled for the correct year as your own team have told me i am not. After 2hrs (total) of being on the phone this person finally ensured me i had been correctly enrolled and had been given conflicting information but took no ownership from the fact that information came from their team. It was only 20minutes later someone rang me back stating they had correct the tuition fee. This had to be one of the worst most incompetent calls i have ever been on and had i never come into contact with the last individual who was clearly projecting confusion on to me in attempts to gaslight, i would have a significantly better view of this university. If you ever find yourself wondering if unqualified individuals can end up in qualified roles, give the finance department a call.

One of the best uni to attend. The infrastructure and the facilities are great. Professors are really helpful, understanding and knowledgeable. Global lounge is one of the best place to meet new people and make new friends. Really recommend this university. I had an amazing one year studying my course here.

Graduation day for my daughter. This is one of the top universities for psychology and for its care of students and its community outreach. It even ranks to 5 for sustainability initiatives. But today was for celebration and they organised and executed that with aplomb. Well done NTU. Send your youth here if you want them to succeed but be happy too
