Been before but a few times I’ve been and been regretted because I’m not a “regular”… bc I’m not from Belfast. Bouncer was ridiculous because I wasn’t there every weekend so I didn’t get in. Ruined the night bc it was our last place to land. Don’t come here if you don’t live in Belfast and come regularly I guess

Such a fun and welcoming place! The music was amazing, with great DJs and drag performances that kept the crowd dancing all night. Staff were friendly, drinks were reasonably priced, and the vibe was pure good energy. Definitely one of the best LGBTQ+ nights out in Belfast!

Extremely disappointed by the blatant discrimination at the door Queued for over half an hour only to be turned away with the excuse that we "weren't regulars" even though several of us have been to this bar many times before. It was clear that someone in our group didn’t fit the bouncer's idea of who should be allowed in, or more precisely what fit their image of what a gay person is. When we asked for a real reason, they couldn’t give one, spouting the same rhetoric of "not being a regular". This kind of gatekeeping is unacceptable anywhere, but especially in a space that claims to be a safe haven for the LGBTQ+ community. If a venue selectively excludes people based on looks, vibes, or arbitrary judgments, especially within our own community, it stops being a safe space and becomes part of the problem. Absolutely disgusting behaviour and horrible to feel singled out in this way when we queued for the venue same as everyone else. You think in 2025 we would be long past this kind of behaviour but clearly not. Do better.

I've never had a bad night in boombox. I'm a straight male but enjoy boombox because I can dance & it's free of agressive cavemen & malignant women ruining the vibe. The music is much better than the Kremlin & drinks aren't too expensive. I also find the door staff to be welcoming and friendly.

First time in Belfast on a night out found this place to be a disgrace felt like they don't want straight people on there premises. Door staff and manager of premises very rude when I questioned them to why we were asked to leave the bar , would not recommend this place most definitely won’t be back.

From Scotland came for a weekend out. Arrived at the doors ar Boom Box around 1:15am get refused to be allowed in because me and my friends arent regulars knownly we can't be if we're from Scotland(we told the bouncer that). Very disappointed, with Jake in particular. Definitely won't be back. Ruined my night out!

This place is so fun we went as a group and had a blast. On the first floor you can hang out and watch the drag queens preform intermittently and on the top floor there's plenty of space to dance.

It states that Boombox is a gay bar. It doesn’t seem to be cause I saw in the corner some guy making love to some vulnerable girl. I know that money is tight during 24 months but bouncers should lay down the rules cause tbh it can be distressing watching this. I would say that 75 per cent are straight or maybe bisexual. I don’t care what gender who are but it seems that some girts are completely drunk and scream at spaghetti arms. It doesn’t bother me actually it’s hilarious to watch. I think bags should be checked and if your straight then u should refuse because a straight girl can become obnoxious at door. . Even though measures have relaxed we must still be on guard. Music was great however missed the drag queens. Absolutely phenomenal place for a night out the people are so unique in their own way and no one cares about who you are. I would definitely recommend this establishment. The bouncers are so accommodating including the bar staff look in this life its what u make of it. Elaine and Jake are totally inspiring bouncers whom make u so welcome.
