An M&S in the Torrington Rd carpark would be so much better than the offerings from this store.

extremely disappointed with the behaviour of a staff member named (KEERTHI) at the Claygate Co-op (Hare Lane). His attitude was shockingly rude—he spoke with no basic courtesy, no sense of how to deal with customers, and absolutely no professionalism. It felt like he thought he owned the place. This kind of behaviour is unacceptable from anyone working in customer service, especially in a community store. I request that Co-op management review the CCTV footage of his interaction with customers and take proper disciplinary action. This isn’t the first time. Verbal complaints have already been made to other staff members about his behaviour. Unfortunately, nothing has improved. Either he needs serious training in how to speak to people, or he shouldn’t be working in a customer-facing role at all. The Co-op brand stands for fairness and respect. Staff like this go against everything your store claims to represent.

I tried to buy a scratch card for myself, I was with my daughter and I have asked her which one should I get . Because I have asked her, the cashier refused to sell the scratch card saying he suspects proxy sale. Never encountered this ever . I even explained it’s for me and not for her. Incident happened on 23/08/2024.

Friendly enough staff, but there’s no element of efficiency. Staff will walk past a long queue of people waiting for one open till and not think to assist - expect long waits during busy periods

Some disgusting staff in this place. Especially the short old girl who usually works mornings, she’ll follow you around the store for a reason and purposely get in your way. Not sorry but you’ll just have a standstill with her until she moves and apologises for hitting you with the trolley or groceries.

Expensive and constantly out of stock. The staff are friendly and helpful but the selection is awful the veg is always on its last legs and the beer section is never priced properly. Finally the reduced section often feels like they are trying to put you off buying it. Example. Chicken breasts, go out of date today. On "reduced" with less than a £1 off the full price...

Woa! I said to myself when I saw the price of my favourite beer. I would have to cut down on drinking if I continued shopping here. Luckily Sainsbury's were still open and I didn't mind the journey. Also my favourite cheese tasted like butter from this shop and it's not supposed to taste like that so I'm venturing to save myself some change and be good to my palate. I will say the shop is clean as that is what people seem to care about these days.

Great friendly staff. This is a very busy co op in clay gate. Because it is so busy, you may find it has limited stock as things get sold very quickly. It has on road parking. You can get a very fast home delivery from your major online food delivery service.
