Wow! What a gem! The menu had so many delicious dishes to choose from and all great value. We had three courses including the pictured celeriac steak and venison - genuinely blown away by the quality. The service and atmosphere were wonderful too. Can't wait to go back!
This place is my new favourite!! It’s everything you could want from a local village pub. The pub itself is beautiful. True to its 1000 year old heritage. Cozy and welcoming. The staff are friendly and have good knowledge of the menu. The Sunday roast is by far the nicest plated roast around!! I would challenge anyone to find one better. Thank you for a really great time. We will be back very soon!!
Traditional privately run pub with restaurant food. Was beautiful cooked and amazing tastes. Presentation of the food was amazing and proudly presented. The staff were tentative and made you feel wanted. Pub is dog friendly with plenty of locals.
Visited here twice over the weekend while staying nearby. Inn is very welcoming, especially as the log fire was lite. Staff, especially the landlady, were very friendly & attentive. We chose to sit in the lovely garden with plenty of seating as the weather was good & we had three dogs. Although the landlady said we were welcome to come inside as they were dog friendly. Really good selection of Ales, lagers & ciders. We never ate here, but the food looked amazing, which is reflected in the reviews. The chef was smoking beef brisket in the garden, which was coming onto the menu in the next day or two. Unfortunately, we wouldn't be there. Definitely worth a visit to a lovely Inn situated in a pretty village.
Came here on our visit to Mill Cross Retreats. Service was so friendly and welcoming. Food was great, especially the mac n cheese arancini. Brisket was melt in your mouth soft and so flavourful. We were so full there was no chance at puddings. Will definitely come back.
Gorgeous pub, nice atmosphere and a cosy fire. There are tables near the bar for drinks, plus two dining areas for meals. We had a delicious dinner and the service was fantastic. This was our first visit and certainly won't be our last. Highly recommend.
Unexpectedly good food. Fabulous fish stew and venison suet pudding. Dog friendly.
Friendly welcome, atmospheric and warm pub which is clearly popular with locals and tourists alike. Superb food all freshly prepared, with dining options in the newer garden room or else in the pub itself. Would highly recommend but you will need to book in advance!

A traditional pub that offers delicious food and a good selection of drinks. Staff were friendly and offered great service. The roads to the pub are quite narrow but it is definitely worth the drive!
