Helped me buy and sell properties. Fast and I was kept up to date the whole process, which turned out to be much longer due to issues out of our control, however they guided me as needed and were incredibly prompt in completing any necessary work to keep the whole purchase moving.
After my mammy died, my sister and myself [who both live in England] had to try and deal with MacAuley's of Carnmoney Rd, Glengormley, with who Mammy had lodged her will. My Sister rang MacAuley's the day after Mammy died, to inform them of her death. I followed this up with a call a week later, to check on progress and find out when we might hear back from MacAuley's and someone who identified himself as "James" didn't even know she had died or where her will was and was obviously in a hurry to end the phonecall, trying to fob me off, throughout the few minutes I was on. I asked James to send my sister and me copies of the will, as soon as he found it and was assured he would do so. Over a month later, we are still waiting to hear anything at all from MacAuley's. During the call, I also asked James for his email address, so I could confirm, in writing, the details of our phone conversation and also make sure he had our up to date contact details. He told me his email address was "james". I'm not joking. That's literally what he said. I queried "james at?" and was told "at the company name". So, after the call, I had to find their company website, to get their domain name, then query their mailserver to check his address actually existed and then email him. Completely farcical. I didn't receive even the common courtesy of an acknowledgement of receipt of the email I sent James, much less a reply. So I sent another follow-up email a fortnight later with exactly the same outcome, ie. nothing... crickets... tumbleweed. I wouldn't trust this lot with my Cycling Proficiency Certificate. Never mind any important legal documents.
Too often the human element is lost in the legal profession with house sales and purchases. Not with Macaulay’s. They couldn’t do enough to help make a stressful process much easier and I am forever grateful to them for that, in particular Keirstin, James and Karen. At the final stage when communication is so vital, and missing from so many solicitors, Keirstin worked tirelessly to get everything completed, and always with a bit of humour to ease the pain. Thank you to you all!!
