We’ve visit the Royal William Yard frequently and have been here twice now, once last year during one of the Christmas Markets during the evening and again this year when the Christmas Market was on. We thought we’d give it a second chance as last year the atmosphere was terrible. Rude staff who clearly didn’t want to be there and didn’t want to be at all helpful. We had hot chocolates which were lovely but the attitude of the staff needs some serious attention. Don’t think we will bother again. Nothing has changed. I very rarely make bad reviews but this has to be one of the worst places we’ve been. The only positive was the lights on the building and that had nothing to do with the cafe itself.

Stopped here for coffee on our visit to Plymouth. Coffee was pretty good. Was quiet when we visited on a rainy Friday afternoon, so lacking in a bit of atmosphere. Looks to be a popular place for people to work on their laptops. Dog friendly.

The atmosphere wasn’t very welcoming, with no acknowledgment on arrival or on leaving (and no they weren’t very busy). They have no knowledge of what they are selling. Not knowing if your products are vegetarian or not in this day and age is ridiculous to say the least. Get up to speed people. Whilst ironically selling ‘vegan’ cake. Note to manager- train your staff better on what you’re serving. You have to self serve cake slices to eat in, into cardboard boxes, which isn’t great for the environment in any way. Coffee was mediocre. The two stars are for the almond blondie which was nice.

Overpriced, pretentious cafe which has a very strange decor. Only gave it one star as I couldn't give it zero. Background music is annoying, loose leaf tea tastes bitter - just get PG tips FFS. Size of cake portions is ridiculous for the price and very little choice. Furniture just doesn't go! Where are the stunning sea views?Give up before you go bankrupt!.
