Recently took my mordaunt shorts in. David did a great job. the fuse cradle had snapped so the tweeter wasnt working. he soldered on a new cradle and sorted me out with a new fuse bringing these classic bad boys back to life ! couldnt be happier. would 100% bring in any legacy gear for him to sort.
I can highly recommend. David is very friendly and helpful. Expertise like David’s is getting harder and harder to find. He carefully serviced by beautiful wooden-cased Sony receiver from 1971 and treated it with great care and enthusiasm. Really good value too, and a proper Aladdin’s cave of vintage Japanese gear.
David Thomas is the sort of expert you want living in your town. We travelled to him in Nottingham after an extensive search for a repairman closer to us and we discovered a knowledgeable gent who deals with vintage analogue equipment and who has breathed new life into our tuner. Well worth a visit; we've been enjoying our aged vinyl after purchasing a reconditioned turntable from him ; what a find !
David managed to fit me in despite a big post-Christmas workload, and within a week identified the issues with my 20 year-old Sony CDP XE570 CD player. Door drive belt replaced, mechanism lubricated, laser focussed. All for a very reasonable sum. Delighted to find someone local undertaking this work and that I can avoid a replacement purchase.
