Went in with my friend (we're both teenagers) and I picked up a mask with intention to buy it. I had my hands full with two bags in one and the mask in the other, and I wanted to see the price on something so I balanced the mask on a rack to check, when an employee came up and took it. She said to me, rudely 'if youre gonna pick stuff up can we make sure you put it back next time' in a condescending tone. I told her I was going to buy it but she ignored me and walked off. So me and my friend left after feeling humiliated, and shocked that she wouldnt just hand it back and say sorry after i clarified i wanted to buy it. Its honestly shocking how this shop targets teenagers who are simply going into look, as this isn't the first time I've been reprimanded looking or trying on hates. Do not go in if you are a teenager. It's not worth the hassle and amazon or Ebay would be a friendlier experience.

Horrid experience here on Friday, the queues were insane giving it was Halloween the following day, I was through the door about a second and immediately approached by a “manager” and told “if you want to buy anything just bring it straight to me” I just thought ok… odd… but shop was busy and probably trying to protect any losses and I also had a pram with my autistic son, my daughter had taken a long black dress in with her which we had bought in a local charity shop less than 20 minutes before, we made our way around the shop which became a little overwhelming for my little boy so I asked my elder daughter to wait outside with him whilst I paid, was then approached by a lady with red hair (staff member) she tried to touch my arm and said “il escort you to the till with them bits love” in a really intimidating manner… my daughter had left her long black dress with me (which actually had a tag from quiz on the inside) however I had a feeling this was going to cause some confusion, as I was about to let this lady know (as she kept looking me up and down and talking into her walkie talkie about me blatantly in front of me) she literally shouted “AND THAT STUFF YOUVE HIDDEN ARE YOU GOING TO PAY FOR THAT TOO” then became aggressive in her mannerism and tone whilst I merely tried to explain, manager then came over and questioned where the pram was gone and had it been checked, I pointed to show her my daughter was waiting directly by the door and she had my full permission to search through my pram (manager was an older lady with glasses) she also became hostile and rude, I paid for my bits and as I was leaving I said “maybe when the shop is quieter il come back and have a word with you about one of your staff if it’s ok” to which the red haired lady jumped in and said “just don’t come back” and shouted “OK HUN” into my face, I am honestly appalled at how we were treated, especially with so many places being so fantastic now with neurodivergent children, having spoke with mall security they informed me that shop have a particularly bad reputation which isn’t surprising, I will be filing a complaint with the police for discrimination and disability hate crime in regards to the lady with red hair, I could cope with the shop being over priced pound shop crap because of the time of year, I don’t mind paying out for what makes my children happy, however I absolutely will not accept myself and my children being treated so disrespectfully in front of a shop full of people.

Most of the costumes wre similarly priced (~£25), so some sre really good value but other seem a bit steep. Really good range of stuff though especiallyfor instore, saves you ordering it online.

Products are alright for a single use costume. One thing i am going to say though, the whole time i was in this shop with my friends we were being followed around by two staff members and they were very blatantly following us. What is the need, why target a group of teenagers who are simply looking around the shop and trying on hats and taking photos, where is the problem? We had one staff member on each side of us and each time we moved aisle they would follow us, there are so many other people in the shop and you're concerned about a group of 4 people. Honestly ridiculous

Fantastic place for fancy dress. Didn't have what I wanted but do have an amazing selection. And the most beautiful corsets with fitting service. Will definitely be returning to buy a corcet

Went looking for something I saw on their website. Staff was not helpful at all, one if them was even rude when I asked if they were sure it was not in stock. Ended up buying a couple of decorations only to realise 5 minutes later that I could have bought the in One Below for HALF the price.

I and my friends have had an awful experience here, and after reading the reviews I’m honestly grateful we didn’t have worse as it seems we were actually lucky. It appears the staff are prejudiced and unprofessional and rude to YOUNG PEOPLE (of colour especially it seems, supported by the reviews) who enter their PARTY SHOP, no idea who they think their demographic is supposed to be. Me and some friends (who were all poc btw besides me) went in before Halloween one time as it looked fun! We tried on some stuff, took a couple photos and as we were about to leave, this middle-aged lady (who I now presume to be the owner) aggressively told us to move because we were “in the way of the queue” (which I don’t think we were, and either way, if she was nice about it it wouldn’t have mattered at all!) so we apologised and immediately moved and left. A few months later we went back as that didn’t put us off and we enjoyed browsing. This is when we all put on a hat and took a photo together, out of the way and quietly (we were also planning on staying and buying something fyi) and that same lady came up to us and rudely said we can’t try things on, can’t take photos and have to be over 18? (which was very frustrating, especially because one of us IS 18 and others about to be) so she put her hand out and we gave her the hats and as we were leaving she said “shop policy!” dragging it on. So just be wary of this if you plan on going I wouldn’t want people having a potentially worse time (and please read the other reviews.)

First of all i don’t even want to rate it one star but anyways this shop is racist they started filming me and my friends and followed us around the shop because they thought we was ‘stealing’ we weren’t, we were trying on hats like normal teens do when they go in the shop instead we were harassed and filmed by one of the white women in there. We went to report it to one of the security guard and he said it’s happened before. So your telling me harassing younger children is normal? recording children is normal? we went up to the shop with the guard and he told us to wait outside for her to come out she didn’t so her manger did. However, she lied for her(the woman that was recording us) saying when she was filming us because she was ‘placing an order’ so your telling me having her phone to our faces is placing an order. 5 days ago we went to that shop again because i wanted to get something for my birthday so i brought my friends along (the same ones) when we entered the shop a white male stopped us and said we had to be 18 so we turned around THEN 2-4 boys(white)smaller that us looked about 13 walked in and the male worker just looked at them when they walked in and did nothing. If your black i wouldn’t risk the discrimination and the filming don’t get how this shop is a thing if there has been many reports about people being filmed and workers being rude.

This shop has some hatred towards coloured people, Me and and friends went to the store and we tried on a few cowgirl hats to buy for halloween however I who was coloured was told to take it off because my skin would infect the hat but my WHITE friends were allowed to try everything on??? Soon later after having a look around, the owner was following us and proceeds to record us who were minors at the time and when we left she stood outside the shop and recorded us as we walked away. We went to get some help by the securities who worked at victoria centre as we were uncomfortable with the owner recording us , HOWEVER when we went to confront the owner she refused to come out the shop to talk to us so she got the manager to come out and make a unbelievable excuse of “She was placing an order” even though her phone was shoved in front of our faces and was pointed out direction when we walked out!?!?. Months later me and my friends decided to give this shop another try and we was going to purchase an inflatable monkey but the security guard working there said we had to be 18 to enter the shop, we was confused to why so we just accepted it and walked off but then a few minutes later we walked pass the shop and there was a group of boys baring in mind that looked 13 and was allowed in. I don’t even know how this shop manages to stay open with their stupidly high prices and terrible services.

The staff were extremely rude. I went in with my friends today to have a look at pirate costumes as I need ideas for Halloween. I put a pirate hat on my twin as we were interested in buying it and a rude worker came over and said “you can’t try things on, put it down”. This was uncalled for. If we had known you “can’t try things on” we wouldn’t have and If she had spoken to us nicely, we would’ve apologised and moved on. I have seen reviews where people have been told they can try things on however. If it was a costume, fair enough but I’m not going to buy a hat if I either don’t like what it looks like on or it doesn’t fit. One of my friends then picked up a “gun” and was shooting it. The same lady came over and rudely told us “that is for you to buy, not play with so put it back and make your way to the front of the store”. Again, we were just having a look and it seemed she was being like that because we’re young. We are 18 so we’re not going to go in messing around, I wanted to get a few things for my Halloween costume, like I said. The lady was extremely rude from the start and if she had asked us nicely to not “try things on” we would’ve apologised and either left or bought something. I’ve seen quite a few reviews of rude staff against younger people and it isn’t acceptable. I have also just seen a review of someone’s fiancé trying on many masks and hats which also makes me thing the staff member was rude because we’re young.
