I initially reached out to Paul for help with OCD, but my experience with scheduling and communication was very frustrating. At first, I didn’t get a response to my initial inquiry. The second time I reached out, he gave me a date for an appointment, but I didn’t follow through with it. When he followed up with a new date, he again, didn’t follow through, but this time I had to send an email to confirm if he was still taking clients since he wasn’t being clear about the process or following through on scheduling. At that point, he informed me that I had to pay the full price of the appointment in advance before I could officially book it, which caught me off guard. Once I paid, he had asked what time i was working day of said appointment. I replied with 3:15. He didn’t respond, so I had to email him again the night before the appointment to confirm. At 1:30am that day of appointment, he responded with a different time: 2:30 PM. He was aware that I had work and couldn’t make that time since I had already told him what time i had work in advance which gives the impression he kept putting obstacles in the way to not take me on as a client. i already had paid full price and for a paying client who is struggling with MH, this was not a respectful manner on how to treat them. Overall, the lack of communication, unclear scheduling, and requirement to pay upfront before booking an appointment that never happened made the process feel very disorganised and stressful. I understand therapists are busy, but the inconsistent responses and confusion about appointment times made it difficult for me to feel comfortable moving forward. While I’m sure he’s knowledgeable, I would have preferred a more reliable and transparent process when trying to get help for something as important as OCD treatment.

I was afraid to reach out at first, unsure how to explain the thoughts I was having, but Paul was completely impartial and never reacted with judgement. That made it easier to speak openly, and I realised there’s no theme or thought too strange or too frightening to bring up and move past. His use of ACT has been genuinely helpful. Learning that just because a thought appears in our headspace doesn’t make it true even when the emotion feels convincing. This helped me recognise that it’s just noise. We always have a choice in how we live our lives, even when the mind is noisy and asking for attention. And if you’re like I was — overwhelmed, scared to tell someone, worried about judgement, or constantly asking why am I having these thoughts — know this: they don’t say anything about who you are. They’re simply harmless blips the mind throws out, and they lose their weight the moment you stop treating them as something significant. I’d confidently recommend Paul to anyone wanting to move beyond this fear and take the first steps back towards a life that feels genuine, purposeful, and their own again. And if you’re wondering whether change is possible, let my experience and the experience of many others be a reminder that progress isn’t just hopeful, it’s entirely achievable.

Given Paul has experience of living with OCD he is in a unique position to help his clients experiencing similar challenges. Paul is friendly and puts you at ease. He helped me identify strategies which are helpful and equally as important those which are less helpful in managing anxiety. Crucially, I learned through working with Paul this is not about trying to 'push away' or 'problem solve' uncomfortable thoughts & feelings but more about making space for them as you go about living you life, doing things that you value. I would recommend Paul to anyone who is struggling with OCD & Anxiety. He will support you in finding management strategies that work for you. Paul Ockwell, Leeds, United Kingdom

From his professional and specific treatment plans to the individual strategies put in place to help, Paul has really changed my life within the past year and I’ll forever be grateful that I am able to live my life fully again.
