We were staying in the area and I booked The Wild Mushroom for Sunday lunch on the strength of the other reviews. I'm really pleased I did. It's a 3 course set menu on a Sunday with a very wide choice. We enjoyed the amuse bouche and canapes to start the meal. The game and fish options were particularly strong. Everything was delicious and well presented and the staff were friendly and attentive. Portions were generous. For the quality of the food the price was extremely reasonable. We couldn't really have had a more enjoyable meal. The restaurant was full - I'd booked about a month in advance as I wanted to secure a table for a celebration.

We've been driving past Wild Mushroom for the past 6 years since we moved here and for some reason or another we've not been in - until our wedding anniversary this month. I don't know why we waited so long as it was one of the best dining experiences we've had in this neck of the woods. Four of us dined and we each ordered different things so we could check out the very interesting and seasonal dishes on the (surprisingly long) menu. We were not disappointed at all - everything was delicious, technically well cooked and had great intensity of flavours. Portion sizes were good too. But the icing on the cake was all the little extras we were offered - a small platter of innovative hot and cold canapes with our drinks and a surprise pumpkin "panacotta" between the starter and main course. We thought these would have been served with the tasting menu, so it was a very pleasant surprise to be given them with a la carte. By the end of the meal we were so full we couldn't fit in pudding or cheese! The wine list was very well put together, with a wide range of choice in price, grape varieties and regions (though the wine buyer loves French wine, with a whole page each of red and white from that country). We went for a Hugel Gerwurtztraminer with our starters and a Uraguayan Tanat, Syrah, Viognier blend with our mains, both delicious and paired well with our food choices. Lovely service from well-trained staff which didn't feel rushed or stuffy or slow. Prices exceeded our expectations - only ~£65pp for two courses, including a round of aperitifs, two bottles of wine between us and service. We could have easily spent that at some of the better local pubs for much lower quality cooking and certainly none of the extras! We shall be back as regulars now we know just how good it is.

Lovely experience. Table of 4 and we ordered different items from the menu so we could taste test each plate. Interesting menu where everything tasted good. We'll worth a visit.

My husband and I had a fabulous meal last night at the Wild Mushroom in Westfield. We've heard amazing things about this place but never been before and we totally understand why it has such a great reputation - the food and service were incredible - we absolutely loved every mouthful and can't praise them highly enough - stunning, delightful, delicious - not enough words! A big thank you - we will be back!!

Had the set menu that is offered during the Christmas period. And well, it was absolutely delicious! £40 for a 3 course meal with nibbles with a extensive wine menu that is well priced. It started with a delightful "mushroom and chestnut cappuccino" (a soup) to start. The staff are attentive but not pushy or overbearing and were very lovely. We will be back next time we're in the UK!

My sister and I treated ourselves for our joint birthday. Outstanding food and service. Couldn't fault anything. An utter joy from the minute we arrived.

My partner and I had a lovely dinner here for her birthday. The food was pretty incredible and we both loved the range of choice on the al a carte menu which was all really reasonably priced. We almost did the taster menu but both wanted to try things off the taster in the end. The atmosphere inside was really cosy, like a high end pub restaurant. Service was really nice and all round we just had a perfect evening. Will be going back for sure.

This is magnificent on every level. The accoustics are cleverly managed so our hard of hearing guests could cope. The cutlery (weighty) and tableware set off the food perfectly. The food oh my goodness, the food! The young, attentive but highly professional waiting staff added to the loveliness of the event. We've been promising ourselves a trip to The Wild Mushroom for forever - it was worth the wait.
