What a great team! front of house is amazing and the food coming from the kitchen is spot on, there are a few things that didn't meet expectations; The tables in the restaurant didn't feel premium, and the glassware was low quality. Hopefully we get a chance to visit again and would definitely recommend!
The best food I've ever eaten... have you ever rolled your eyes after biting into food? How about nearly every bite of every dish. Never a bad meal and to be honest you can not get anything better for a lovely chilled evening with no rush just amazing food drink and chloe will do her best for you to enjoy yourself. We hadn't eaten there in nearly a year and she still remembered my partner didn't like spice so they put a spicy sauce on the side for her to try. Top service the only place I'm happy to spent £300 on a meal no regrets and I wallet is tight lol
Absolutely incredible dining experience at Number Eight! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm, intimate, and beautifully put together, perfect for our wedding evening. We were especially touched to find a congratulations card waiting on our table, such a thoughtful gesture that made the night feel even more special. Chloe was so welcoming and attentive, making us feel instantly at ease and well looked after throughout the evening. The food? Next-level. Every course was a masterpiece, visually stunning and full of flavour. The roast hake was perfectly cooked just wow. You can tell the ingredients are fresh and thoughtfully sourced, and everything is plated with so much care and creativity. This place is a true gem in Bideford. It’s fine dining without the fuss, just genuine, passionate cooking and exceptional service. Definitely recommend booking in advance, as it’s a small and intimate space that fills up fast (for good reason!). Can’t wait to come back.

An absolutely exquisite fine dining experience. Fabulous setting in a beautiful building overlooking the river. Chloe delivers outstanding service nothing is too much trouble.
