Tuesday night dinner. Pub was very quiet. Had variety of nibbles to start - whitebait, squid and cauliflower bites - all of which were excellent. Each came with its own dip. Followed thst with the lamb chump which was one of the best pub meals I've had in a long time. The meat was tender and full of taste, and the dauphinoise potatoes and green veg (broccoli and leeks) were the perfect accompaniment. The jus was excellent and we each had an extra jug of it given to us so no need to ask for more (although I'm sure we'd have got more if necessary). The other main ordered was the butternut squash risotto which was well presented and full of flavour. Rounded it all off with a variety of desserts. The star appeared to be the sticky toffee pudding (not what I ordered, sadly) so that'll be my choice next time. Staff were friendly and helpful without being obtrusive. All in all, a great place with superb food.

I called there was no answer, a few minutes later they called back. We booked a table. It was pretty quiet when we got there but it was an early weekday evening. We chose a table. The food was delicious. I had the Salmon with sanfire. The puddings were lovely. Just beware though if you order wine by the glass, perhaps ask if they have a list. I had a large sauvignon blanc and it was £12! Our party of 4 enjoyed good food and good service.

Food was absolutely fantastic. We ordered the prawns and chicken wings as a starter. The crown burger and steak flatbread for main. Malteaser cheesecake and chocolate brownie for dessert. The brownie was genuinely one of the best I've ever had.

Excellent local village gastro pub. If you're looking for a lovely local which main focus is food, look no further than this. Well appointed, stylish decor and in a village location. The Old Crown offers plenty of delights from the menu. Decent portion sizes with extremely well plated food for most palettes. The Braised blade of beef was particularly delightful. Followed by the Pigs in Blankets Yorkshire pudding being a special mention. Ample parking, plenty of tables available on our visit which was a Wednesday evening. Although by 20:00h the tables were filling up nicely. Adequate numbers of staff who are happy to serve you. So go one, treat your loved one for that special meal together. Not ideal for kids.

Not sharing my opinion that often... Only when it's exceptional. Best pub food I ever had. Good wine, ambiance, staff and traditional, well prepared food.

We visited The Old Crown for a Sunday roast. My partner chose the blade of beef and I had the belly pork. Both were cooked perfectly and the pork had a great bit of crackling. The roast potatoes were the only let down, they looked like they would have been lovely and crispy on the outside and fluffy inside, however they tasted as if they'd been cooked a while ago. This is maybe as we ate at 3pm. The kids meals were nothing to shout about but they're not fussy and were happy enough! The pub itself was really nice and the staff were all very friendly. Plenty of parking too for people visiting from outside of the village. I do recommend The Old Crown and would visit again.

Great food, well organised and run. The food here is always great quality and Andy was incredibly helpful in arranging a buffet at very short notice after our wedding date changed at last minute. We had a great time, the food was just right and we had a day to remember!
