Visited in December so we had to wait for food to arrive to our table but that is understable, the place was full. Food is very tasty, everybody complemented the chef, staff is amazing and friendly, atmosphere is spot on.
Held my sisters 30th birthday here. As there were 25 of us (5 kids), we were asked to send a pre-order ahead of the date. The staff were super helpful with this and communicative ahead of the event. Once we got there, they gave us our own separate area, and couldn't help us enough. The staff were amazing and soooo accommodating. Special shout out to Olivia and Ava who were incredible and couldn't help us enough! We had children with us and they were very accommodating and also a last minute change to the order and they were flexible. 4 of our party were late due to a traffic accident but they helped to co-ordinate starters and mains based on their arrival. Every single person of our party enjoyed their food and had a great time. The separate room meant we could all casually chat and mingle amongst ourselves. On another note the location is stunning, right next to the canal, great for photos. Would love to go back for summer time. Great accessibility as well, ramp entrance and disabled toilet available. Cannot say enough how much we enjoyed ourselves. We will definitely be coming back.
Lovely restaurant in a beautiful wood, brick, and glass building located by the carnal. Love the ambiance. Good menu with loads of options and huge portions. Exeptional service. I'm certainly looking forward to dining there again. UPDATED! Well, I dined there again yesterday, but I wasn't as impressed as I was the first time. It is a lovely venue and they have some nice pods you can dine in. Unfortunately, the waitress who showed us to our table right in front of a restroom (bypassing other empty tables that remained unused until we left), told us the free pods were unavailble. Yet they remained unused until we left. Our waiter was fantastic. Really great customer service from him. Love the presentation of the food - very mouth watering. However, the quality/taste was mix, to be honest. Not great overall. I have never been served 6/7 pieces of chunky chips before. I certainly didn't get that quantity the first time I dined there. Plus, they either need to get their Blueberry and Apple Crumble right, or take if off the menu entirely. I provided fresh photos. Not sure I wil be dining there again.
This was my second visit to the Navigation Inn and as I don’t live local to it we made a special journey. A very lively setting right on the canal. Went for Sunday lunch, the place was packed and weather was wonderful Staff very friendly and attentive. Food served quickly and efficiently, I had lovely veggie roast, crispy roast potatoes, roasted carrots and green beans. Veg not over cooked and all piping hot. This was topped by a huge Yorkshire pudding, perfectly cooked. Holly was lovely and really attentive and made our visit pleasant once again.Looking forward to visiting next time!
What a treat finding this pub/restaurant, and it being the same chain as the Cherry tree in Olney. We didn't reserve, so had drinks at the bar and luckily got a cancelled reservation out on the terrace overlooking the canal within half an hour Service was excellent, food and drinks selection were really good. I went for the specials - soup of day and flat iron steak, my other half had Padron peppers and a pizza, both dishes did not disappoint. Individual glasses of wine. The ambience was lovely and we were luckily to catch a really beautiful sunset that evening too. Definitely return as love the chain, and the setting is very pleasant.
Great location next to the Grand Union Canal with a nice atmosphere. Food was excellent and the staff were great. A wonderful place to eat. Happy to recommend. Staff enjoyed having photos with Speedomick before we left.
Nice settings. Literally by the canal so the views are amazing. Tried to have Sunday lunch outside on a sunny day and see said views, as the garden area is rather large. Sadly no food being served outside due to staff issues. Inside was hot and busy... no thank you. Tried the evening menu instead. Nice but could be better, service was a little slow. Menu seems quite a mix, seems like they've tried to cover every base. Not enough meats on the menu, far too many pizzas. On a lighter note, there's plenty of parking. It's gets busy so booking a table is advised, even during the day. To note there are only a few tables inside with a view of the canal, most do not.
I have been here on several occasions and recommend it. We went once as a family, we had an outside pod with its own heating and music (with volume control), the pod was really nice and comfortable and a novel experience. The food is of a high quality with plenty of gluten-free and vegetarian/vegan options if required. Service is very good and the menu selection is nice.
