   I’ve been using The Royal Tandoori for more than 30 years, either take away or sit in. I’ve always loved the food but this last couple of times I’ve found the food has very little taste, almost to the point of being bland. Portion size in the restaurant has really decreased too, so I’m not sure you’re getting the same value for money you used to get. I just felt the quality, that used to be there was missing. I completely understand that costs have increased all round but the food shouldn’t suffer.

   I was really disappointed with our recent order. We waited 50 minutes for the food to be delivered and when the dishes we received were watery, lacked flavour, and overall were not enjoyable to eat. To make matters worse, we even found a hair in the food, which made the meal completely inedible. We called to speak with the manager to explain the situation, but were told he wasn’t available and would call back at 8pm. Unfortunately, no one contacted us. By 8:20pm we called again, and the staff member we spoke to, “Maria,” was very unhelpful and came across as quite rude, which only added to the frustration. Overall, it was a very poor experience both with the food and the customer service, and we left feeling very let down and hungry. £34 wasted and a Friday evening completely ruined.

   Visited Royal Tandoori on the spur of the moment on Friday night. We were made very welcome by Maria and Rocky. We were served papdams and drinks promptly. We didn't order off the menu, just asked Rocky to surprise us with his favourites. The dansak was heavenly, the biryani very fragrant and the sag bhajee was just perfect with the right amount of garlic and spice. Excellent service was provided by the lovely waitress, Maria. Very highly recommended

   Ordered a takeaway via their website. Ordered confirmed and tracking available online to track the confirmation, preparation and delivery. Stated delivery at 6.17pm and counted down to the driver arriving at my property. Once the count down reached zero we had no food and the website stuck. Then at 18.50 it stated order delivered and thanks for your order. No food - I called and they immediately confirmed my address and put me on hold. Came back and told me it hadn't even been cooked let alone sent. At least another 25 minutes- at this point pointless as my daughter has to go to bed! Happy mothers day to me..... thanks alot. Won't be dining here again - didn't even care that they had let me down.

   Prices are just insane now. I understand prices have gone up but a curry, rice and bread about £30 then drinks about a fiver for a soft drink. Can see why it's empty on a Friday night. No alcohol either. Sad as this was the best curry house in Northants by a very long way, now its a sad shadow of what it used to be
