   Went for Xmas lunch £89.99 per person ..staff were pleasant..esp Jess but the meal really wasnt up to standard..1st complaint there wasnt a decoration in the dining area ..hello it is Xmas...1st course 1 inch by 2inch piece of soggy belly pork with a quinell of something orange..main ..1sq inch of stuffing..smallest pig in blanket and very crunchy veg..i sent it back to get it microwaved as it was not hot..i left yhe monstrous yorkshire pud as it was burnt ..on the plus side the cheesecake was delicious..on entering we had an inch high amount of prosecco and after ordering 2 vodkas ..duly drunk i went to get to more and this is where the farce began..nobdy had the keys for the locked up vodka " u know the ones with the dinasaur on " ?? so that was it "madam sorry we cant give u vodka" so i had to make do with a £29 bottle of wine . All in all not a great experience needless to say...never again !!! U need to take lessons from the Upoer House Barlaston..canapès on arrival..drink and free wine on the table ..slightly more expensive last year £15 more actually but far more professional and atmospheric ..someone take note !!!

   We came here for lunch, the food was good but very small for the price. However the service was bad with servers taking ages to check on us. Also they took the first half of our dishes and then took the rest around 5 mins later. And the worst bit was the desert, I had the cheesecake which was £8 but when it came it was despicable. It came and was tiny and had no base a tiny amount of cream. When we asked about this they told us that it was “deconstructed” which was not stated on the menu and their tone was not one of a nice restaurant.

   Had a lovely lunch with a friend here today. He chose chicken and I had beef…. Both excellent. Staff were really friendly and the atmosphere really warm and cozy. I can’t comment on the rooms as we were walk-in’s but if they are as good as the lunch they’ll be great.

   I did not stay in the hotel rooms however I have been a few times for food and drinks. Plenty of parking, pushchair and wheelchair friendly. Dogs welcome, lovely outdoor area with plenty of space for kids to run around. Staff have always been very friendly and polite. Food as always been lovely however we as a family have always felt its a bit pricey for the portion sizes. We often leave still peckish. Very clean place.

   Beautiful hotel set in some of the most amazing of scenery. Room was cosy and everything we could need. The staff are friendly and willing to go above and beyond to ensure your stay is exceptional. Even the local were welcoming and offered their wealth of experience and knowledge of the local area and history. The meals are priced well and prepared to an exceptional standard. They were plentiful and tasted wonderful.

   We had a fantastic evening in the new dining pods. Service was fantastic and the steak night was great value. The locally sourced award winning T-Bone steak was perfectly cooked and excellent value. Plenty of room for 6 of us and a really enjoyable evening in a different environment.

   Deeply disappointed: I booked an overnight stay on behalf of my elderly & infirm mother, who wished to treat my sister to a Christmas night away at Rudyard Hotel, with her on Boxing Day. As there are no lifts at the hotel and mum uses a wheelchair, we had been lucky to book a ground floor cottage room. On arrival the cottage was cold and damp and the heating was not working: it would seem this hadn’t been checked prior to arrival. When queried my sister was advised that it couldn’t be fixed and that a refund could be offered as an alternative. For someone who is largely home bound this was the one night of the year away from home, which my mum had been very much looking forward to. It is disappointing that the hotel takes little time and attention to ensure accommodation is fit for purpose.

   Lovely hotel right next to rudyard Lake. Cracking Sunday lunch with a good selection of meat and veg and a very friendly server. You get loads of meat and help yourself to potato's and veg etc . In the summer, sit outside as there's plenty of space, and they have introduced some cosy pods, too. Coffee shop and ice creams are also available just at the side of the hotel. There is plenty of space to park at a small charge, which is reimbursed if you spend £5 in the pub, which basically makes the parking free. Nice atmosphere and in a nice area. Staff are always welcoming and friendly, and service is quick at the bar. Keep up the good work

   We stay in cottage 2 for 1 night as we spent 2 days in Alton towers. Lovely drive to hotel. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Cottage clean, tidy and perfect for a family. Breakfast the next day was wonderful. Thank you all for making a few days away special. Will definitely recommend to friends and family

   So we're a family of five... Its nearly impossible finding a hotel that will accommodate us all but this place had zero issues. Nice room, tea and coffee ready which was ace and a nice selection of biscuits! It's very quiet even with the bar downstairs and it was busy. Short walk down to the lake with great views from the dam. Look out for the sculptures... Look up! The Food. Well done, very well done. The breakfast was the best we've had anywhere. Pancakes were great. Portions large. Everything was cooked well and not dripping in greese, nice mushrooms, meats were well cooked and certainly not cheap and lovely table service. Excellent hotel and break. Bravo.
