   This is my local matalan and I've been regular customer for years. It absolutely fills me with dread if I have to go to the service desk as its a regular assistant that works the desk. She is an older lady with short blonde bobbed hair. Prides herself in being incredibly abrupt and rude every single time. I went instore to collect a matalan order but wanted to check the price of something the same time as it had no price tag. I said I had an order to collect she glared and asked for the order no, no hello nothing. I then asked if I could check the price of something the same time, she huffed and said that's what self service are for. I explained I thought it would be ok for her to check as I had to go to the desk to collect my order anyway. She scanned the item abruptly said the price then immediately asked for my matalan card automatically assuming i would purchase and stormed off to get my order without me saying a word. She returned with my order and said name? So I gave her the details took my parcel and walked off, again there was no thank you nothing, she just began chatting with her colleague instead. There is literally no need for her rudeness and she is not competent to be in a customer facing role. I myself work in retail and have done for years, I understand the job can be frustrating but this was beyond. This is not the first time I've experienced her rudeness and i've had enough. Something needs to be done as I avoid the shop unless absolutely necessary simply because of some staff being abrupt and rude every single time. Management need to step in and re train their staff on how to give good customer service, customers are the ones that help us retail colleagues stay in our jobs and sadly loyal customers are easily lost because of repetitive poor customer service.

   Everytime I go to this store they have no kids clothes, none of the sizes unless baby. The checkout system is just horrendous, never enough staff, the limited choice for boys in 11- 16 years is just as bad as primark!

   Great selection of clothing for all (babies, children, ladies and gents) and larger sizes available. Shoe section, Nice bedding and homewear selection, artificial plants and ornaments. Reasonably priced, public toilet in store, store card generates discounted offers, nice staff, tidy displays and free parking.

   Amazing sale on at the moment, takes a bit longer at the checkout, with taking off your own tags and scanning, I didn't mind as I know that this frees up staff to do other things in store

   This store what can i say SHAMBLES it was messy trolleys left in the isle with no one about to move it. Staff chatting in groups or 3 behind till all sharing jokes on their phone. It was not the best. Price wise it was £3.00 CHEAPER yes £3.00 CHEAPER than the set price and some things even less. The store needs to be revamped tidied up. And lower their prices like they use to.
