   Very rude and unprofessional staff Very misleading layout. Why place a large sign on back wall saying 20% off all items and when you go to pay the 20% was off one thing only. When I approached staff she was very rude not good for business as matalan has good products

   Went with my husband to buy trousers for him and he got a smart pair for £18 with an expandable waist and a pull on pair for half price in the sale. There were cabin suitcases there for £20 which looked like a good buy.

   I didn't find exactly everything I wanted nevertheless I did find a reasonable priced pair of jeans and a shirt. Lots to see and reasonably priced, my wife managed to find an armful of stuff.

   Bought some baby items on the sale. Nice selection of clothing, etc. The store was clean. Staff were polite. Only 1 till opened as they now have ghose self checkouts so if you are paying cash you may find you will queue for some time. I would give 5 stars. But giving 3 stars due to the long wait at the checkouts and the self checkout

   This store is great - I love the set up of the store with ladies as soon as you walk in, males on the right children and homeware store at the back. Usually have a sale rale or sale after Christmas with up to 50% off items. The store has changing rooms. No toilets inside. There are self checkout tills (card only - can't use gift cards on self checkout) there are two tills with people on it too. They accept gift cards, e gifts and Matalan cards and vouchers. Staff are friendly and helpful with this. Big free car parking outside

   We spent a lot of money on holiday clothing and were pleased with the range and value. Easy parking and shop access. Staff at checkouts were friendly. The company has a policy of practically forcing you to use their self serve facility. We had 30 items to remove the hangers, detag, fold and bag, the CEO should be held accountable for sanctioning such an appalling approach to customer service. We refused to use the self service and waited for a very helpful human. The response from the company to this will be that they have been installed for: 1. Customer convenience 2. Speed of service 3. That the colleagues that used to be on till are now utilised for customer service, hygiene, etc 4. That they are moving with the trend set by supermarkets. Etc etc etc None of this is true or evident and I can guarantee that the labour budget has been cut year on year, actual hours I'm talking about not cash spend. If the response is the usual company P.R. nonsense please do not insult me or other customers by replying at all.
