I ordered food and drinks via the app. Food arrived very nice. Drinks nowhere to be seen. I had the Veg chilli and I needed the drink. Stood at the bar. People arriving after me were served before me. I had to speak up. After over ten minutes waiting the manager served me I asked for the drinks I had paid for. There was no ticket coming off the machine apparently it was next to it. I mentioned that was my problem because? The manager said she would bring my drinks over I told her I was here now I'd take them back to my now cold food. She offered to replace the meal I had half finished. I just wanted the drinks. After I finished my food my partner's plate was already cleared away the manager came to apologies for the error. It was to little to late. Her attitude was terrible not really wanting to go above and beyond to sort the situation. No compensation no offer of anything. Very lacking customer satisfaction and I won't be in a hurry to return. Maybe not use the app. Get the drinks when you order food.

We have booked for Christmas Day. Arrived at 12pm and we're asked if we wanted to have starters straight away which we said yes to. It took another 45mins+ for this to arrive. After that our mains: lamb shanks arrived promptly and we got carvery tickets for others in the party. The food was good. Then there was another wait for the desserts. We got asked if we wanted them and then 15 minutes after we were asked if we were still waiting. Another wait after that they started arriving. We ordered one apple crumble without the custard. They both had custard on. We ordered both chocolate torts without ice creams, they had ice creams on. We tried to check if my torte was definitely gluten free but the first waitress said 'I think so' so tried to find someone else to help. The service was erratic and slow and really there was no atmosphere. It was the least organised Christmas Day we ever had in any pub or restaurant.

My first visit, and will definitely return. It was inviting, and staff served us straight away. The daily carvery was very nice, plenty of meat was given, and lovely gravy. Some of the veg was obviously frozen. They were also good on providing a Gluten Free meal for my daughter.

Warm welcome, sat down pretty quick and with plenty of info on how to order direct from the table with the QR code. Massive and delicious carvery. Very generous with the meats which is a big win for me.

Been amazing so far. The food is to die for and the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. Jade and team have been really easy to interact with and made great recommendations! Service was a bit slow on the breakfast run but this wasn't anything major hence the 4 star for service. The actual staff and running have been really easy and smooth sailing.

We won't ever be coming back here and judging by the lack of customers on a Saturday night, most locals feel the same way. We picked a quiet table away from music and other customers and away from having giant TV screens or flashing gaming machines in view because one of our party has additional needs on the autism spectrum. We were forcibly moved by the "manager" because they wanted to keep the section clear despite the fact that it made absolutely no difference whatsoever to the staff. They would bring food to a table 30cm away but not to ours apparently. The table we were forced to move to was quiet to be fair, but not as quiet or suitable for our needs as the one we chose and within sight of two giant screens and gaming machines with flashing lights. It was quite simply inexcusable to treat us this way and the "manager" is clearly more interested in pushing people around than in customer service. The pub itself was uncomfortably cold and when it arrived the food was barely warm. We sent it back and it was replaced quickly with hot food which was okay but nothing special. The tiled area of floor in front of the bar was greasy and slippy. How long before someone has an accident? Needs a good clean with detergent. I suspect this venue will close down soon. Seems as though people have voted with their feet - we originally tried the Beefeater and it was crammed solid. I'm so not surprised and I don't think it will be missed. Perhaps Marston's need to train their staff in customer service.

11family members went out for a meal. On 30th Oct 22. We had a fantastic time. Food was excellent, staff made us feel very welcome. No rushing us out, and very helpful. Will be going there again. Thanks to all the staff. Great time had by all.

We popped in on the off chance we could get a table for 3. Luckily they were very accommodating even though it was gone 2pm, everywhere else was full. For 2 adult regular meals, 1 child, 2 pints of coke and 1 1/2 came to £45. Service was really quick, from purchasing food to going up to get our food took around 10 minutes. Not a bad meal to be fair, staff were really friendly and service is great.

This is a review for the restaurant, not the Inn. This restaurant blew my mind. The family was out and was coming back from Asda, we live a while away and were very hungry, we saw the Sessile Oak and decided to try it. This was a very good decision. Two of us ordered the mixed grill, one medium-rare and one medium. One of us had a burger and one of us had a surf & turf. All of the dishes were clearly well made, the steaks were pretty much perfectly cooked to our asking and all the meat was very tender and tasty. The staff are very friendly and the service is amazingly quick for the outstanding quality. Their deserts are very well crafted and extremely tasty also. My only criticism of this establishment is that they could use an extra scoop of ice-cream with the sticky toffee pudding. I highly recommend this place if you want high-quality food in good time at an affordable price.

What a great Pub and food. Hat's off an amazing portion of meat for a change and happy staff that looked after us. Why aren't all the chains pubs the same as the Cardiff section isn't as good as the two we visited in Llanelli. Mary Dillwyn was also excellent with exceptional service from Katie. My steak was superb and the other 3 meals were Carvery which again were value and a great portion of meat which is difficult to find believe me !
