   We had a great visit to celebrate our early Christmas with 12 members of our family. The ordering system worked really well. The food was delicious - amazing roasts. Our young waiter was really attentive and friendly - could not have been nicer.

   Absolutely love this place. The food is always gorgeous, generous enough portions for me to negate room for pudding so I've gone for just pudding now too. Equally as gorgeous. Friendly managers make you feel welcome. Large car park, campers can park overnight if buying food. No actual dining room but a variety of sized tables, some with cushioned bench sofas. Obviously a good selection of wines and drinks, teas and coffee. The beams are low, I've never not seen someone have to duck but it's well lit so everyone can see them. Child and dog friendly. Even a small shop with locally made incense sticks, aroma bottles, crafts, sweets and sometimes food products, biscuits. AND you can buy food to feed the piglets, when they have them. Definitely a recommend from me.

   We used to go quite often but hadn’t visited the Rusty Gun in Hertfordshire for a few years. We were keen to find out what it was like and if it had changed at all. We weren’t disappointed everything was just as we remembered it. Welcoming staff, great service and excellent food. For mains I had the half rack of ribs and my wife had a burger. Plenty more delicious options on the many.

   We decided to give it a try last minute on a Friday evening, just the four of us. Booking was straight forward and it wasn't over busy. Food was presented very nicely with a very healthy portion size. All of us enjoyed the food and finished with a desert and coffee. Cost came to around £50 per head, including all drinks but that was 3 courses. Would recommend a visit and staff were welcoming.

   We came for Lunch after previously passing on the way in to Hitchin and checking out their Menu. Interestingly the Pub have a breed of Kune Kune pigs they use for their Pork and they showacse them with a dish called "A Taste of The Rusty Gun". The food did not disappoint and was absolutely delicious! The only criticism I have is that the ribs could do without the sweet Barbecue Sauce and instead make use of the delicious red wine Jus they serve with the dish, I could of easily drunk the jug full I was served! Service was great, Matt was Polite, Friendly and attentive and nothing was too much trouble for him, a credit to the Pub so please pass on my thanks! We will definitely be back to try some other delicious looking dishes available.

   We had the rusty gun's spread of locally bred pork - every single bite was perfect. The scotch egg was probably the best I have ever had, the belly was delicious and moist while the skin was crispy. We also wanted some pulled pork that was only on the lunch menu but the kitchen was happy to add a little to our plate. Fantastic service, great food, good prices and a nice cocktail menu to go with it - can't ask for much more.

   Food was so average I was kinda disappointed as I had heard great things about this place. I had a burger and chips and my friend had the mushroom dish. However the elderflower lemonade was absolutely the best one I've ever had. Could drink that by the bucket! Service was good.

   Lovely pub, friendly staff, with lots of cool seating areas, huge pig pen which the kids loved. Sadly overshadowed by very high prices, £16.35 for 3 small cokes and a pint of shandy, the cokes were £3.75 each!! Would have stayed longer but we’re not paying those prices.
