My favourite nail bar ever and the only one I've ever been to that I've never lost a nail and never had to go back with a complaint

I went in yesterday to get my nails done for prom and did not have a good experience. I went in the other day to book my appointment during which the technician didn't seem to pay attention to what I was saying and I said that I just wanted plain, gel nails, full set. I said it was my first time having nails done. I was told the price would be Β£20. I went in and was told to sit down and choose a colour, which I did. Then when the nail tech (a different one to the one who took my appointment) started she grabbed my hand and started using and nail drill and filing my nails very aggressively. I wasn't sure what was happening and when asked if I'd had my nails done before I said no. I also want to add that she had an airpod in her ear the whole time and at points would start talking to herself, clearly on a call. I asked "Pardon?" assuming she'd said something to me and she just pointed at her ear. She did not ask me if I wanted gel or acrylic and I didn't think to say as I said when booking my appointment. I asked one of my friends and she said when she got her nails done her technician asked what nails she wanted when she was getting them done. She added a small bit of, what I presume to be, acrylic nail or nail extension to the end of each of my nails, she never once asked what I wanted aside from the colour or told me what she was doing . The glue got onto my finger and she didn't clean it. She also didn't clean away any of the filing bits that got onto my fingers. I presumed this was normal as I'd never had my nails done before, didn't know the protocol and assumed the lady knew what she was doing. Whilst filing, and painting nails she'd continuously tell me to relax my hand which was difficult due to how hard she was grabbing my fingers. She would also constantly just grab my fingers and move them with warning which made me tense and made it even harder to relax. When putting my hand into the drying machine she told me to be careful very condensendingly, as if assuming I'd somehow break it. The environment also wasn't great, the station wasn't cleaned between the person before me getting up and leaving and me sitting down. I was there as there appointment was ended and from what I overheard the technician didn't tell her to be careful with the machine or tell her to relax her fingers. After all this I was told the price would be Β£36, Β£16 more than I was told. I'm aware the price I was given was based on gel nails, not acrylic. Luckily I bought my whole purse, not just the Β£20 as I was originally going to. I'm 16 and socially awkward and have never had my nails done before. I didn't know how to say I thought the nails were wrong because if I was being given gel nails I didn't want to seem like an idiot. I didn't know what to expect from the experience but it certainly wasn't having my hand grabbed aggressively as I was given the wrong type of nail. I was given the right colour and the nail do look nice for what they are, however it is immensely difficult to type. I would recommend being very explicit in what you want when you walk in so you don't experience what I did and get the wrong thing. Learn from my mistakes. Thought I'd share my experience and let anyone considering going here to take what I experienced into consideration. (I've added photos below of how the backs of my nails looked, this was after I removed some of the bigger bits of filings, you can clearly see the glue on my finger).

I have never once made a complaint about any services I have had even if I disliked them. However I visited KV nails earlier today for the first time ever and it will most definitely be my last. The ladies in there are rude and the atmosphere is awful. I asked for a quite difficult design before booking and they confirmed they could 100% do it except when I got there she struggled and my nails now look so awful to the point I have cried. I messaged them after my appointment asking if anything could be done and all I received was horrible customer service and only when I stated I wouldn’t be returning did she offer to fix them. I believe these nails are beyond fixing and now I will have to have them redone somewhere else. I wouldn’t of minded if she’d just said she wasn’t able to do it. They cost me Β£50 and are chunky and tacky. She also cut my nail beds and left products all over my hands. Safe to say I won’t be returning.

Ignore any negative reviews, these ladies are amazing what they do! I read a previous negative review from a customer who came into the salon the last time I was there, sadly she was very rude to Tiana and I felt very sorry for her at the time. Tiana you did everything you could to make her happy, some people are just rude! My daughter and I have our nails done regularly here and we are always delighted with the result. I'm super fussy with my nails, but the gel colour is always perfectly applied. It took me a while to find a salon that doesn't damage your own nails when applying acrylics, but these ladies do a fab job and my own nails are not damaged at all. They have also helped my daughter to grow her nails after biting them for years and I'm very grateful! My wedding nails were perfect and my party nails and toes are fantastic too..as always. Thank you ladies.

Friendly staff and I was super happy with my nails - I did pay almost Β£40 but they were beautiful. Stayed on well, however they use an electric drill which absolutely ruined my nails after - they were brittle and flimsy after I got them taken off (also at this salon).
