The food is brilliant every time. The staff are so polite and friendly! Thank you! The new sweet and sour chicken balls are the best!
The staff is always so warm and welcoming, whether I'm ordering or picking up! The food is consistently great—I especially love the Cantonese shredded chicken and beef, it never disappoints! Recently, my kids have been obsessed with the sweet and sour chicken balls—crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, absolutely perfect! Oh, and the Cantonese shredded chicken and beef are still my favorites! Last time, I also tried their Box B combo—it had everything in one, including the crispy beef，BBQ ribs, prawn toast , chicken Fried rice!It was so delicious, I literally licked the plate clean!
The service and atmosphere is mid, there’s no premium customer service but none to complain too much about. The food isn’t to a Chinese takeaway standard such as Chicken Fried Rice heavily lacks flavouring, spring onion & chicken, Chow Mein also lacks flavour and just state of dried up noodles. Delivery staff at the el fourno pizza shop are 5 stars with amazing delivery service but here they just don’t have that touch. The Chinese food was in need of a remake so that’s what had to happen after spending all that money on an overpriced Chinese that didn’t even taste good. I won’t be buying from here again
Its changed owners.... So a few weeks ago i ordered from here and thinking i would get my usual excellent chinese food...got home and it was like i ordered from a different chinese. .chicken was hard like it was from the night before..i called and spoke to jamie who i must admit is so lovely and really did apologise...she advised its been taken over by brand new owners whove employed brand new chefs...she did say she would resolve it next time which is great...but i just wanted to pop this on here to make people aware that its new owners and the food isnt 5star like it was..
The foods fine. Standard takeaway stuff. Unfortunately our order had items missing. The options we were given were, we could go and collect the items or have items next time. It's a half hour round trip as it's rural, and dependent on traffic and we're only in the area rarely. I asked for a refund and was told they couldn't do it over the phone... Pretty sure they could. Just wanted to out me off.
Not one to usually post, have ordered from here sporadically over the last few years, always been an OK Chinese but nothing to shout about, however..... grabbed a last minute take away as was passing last night and have to say food was fantastic!! Not sure what has happened but definitely raised their game. Surprised to see some recent negative reviews on here. Will be trying again very soon to see if it was a one off!!!

We have enjoyed many takeaways from Sun Kong over many years but what a disappointment at the tasteless offering on our last visit. Anaemic spare ribs described as "barbecued" in reality oven cooked tasteless offerings. Special fried rice, historically excellent, now the only thing special about it is the lack of king prawns (2), under seasoned, under fried rice, and where's the egg? Curry sauce was always great. Now it looks and tastes like 1 teaspoon full of curry granules in 2 pints of hot water. At least the portion sizes are comparable shame about the food. Need some major convincing and better reviews to order again after 20 years of great food. Good job the Indian is still open.
A real shame Not been for 6months or so, wish i had read the reviews before going back. We used to like this place. I phoned up to order and was told it would be ready to collect in 20-30mins. I arrived 25mins later and then waited a further 45mins in the shop. After asking twice how long my order will be i was told 5mins. Food was terrible, its also very expensive when you consider i only ordered: Spare ribs bbq and salt n spice (no spice, no flavour) Thai curry Chicken fried rice Chow mein £38 into the bin. This sounds very picky but there was also a small black bug in the prawn crackers. Will not be returning.
Had sweet and sour chicken the first time, had to throw away was that bad. Just had sweet and sour pork as thought may be a one off. But again, had to throw away again. Not a fussy person either. Gross.
