Have been going here for years without an issue. Recently though, they told me I needed to replace something that was going to cost thousands of pounds and that I should order the part today because of the wait. Took it to another garage for a second opinion and they disagreed. So far the car has been running fine. Not sure what happened there but hence the 2 stars.
Friendly and helpful team, and they accommodated my needs when having a new set of wheels and tyres fitted, allowing me to unload and load the new and old alloy wheels in and out of my car, as they fitted the new tyres. The fitter was also very care with the new alloy wheels. Thanks Halfords !
From moment I called and spoke to Karen to the end of my 2 days of going back and fourth for various reasons I received outstanding service from everyone . Both ladies on reception were very helpful and friendly and showed a vast knowledge of cars and mechanical problems . The technicians I dealt with were also very helpful,polite and gave outstanding service. Would recommend and will definitely be using this garage again.
good service, and I appreciate the insight and advice from the mechanics themselves. They measured brakes and tyres etc to the mm, and advised on the percentage they were worn to.... so useful. friendly reception people.
Great service today at Halfords I had all the brakes replaced plus a brake calliper problem diagnosed and replaced before close of business. Improved parking would make the whole experience at Halfords garden street so much better. But very satisfied with the work done on my car.
Terrible garage, and terrible customer service. I booked my car in a week in advance to have the brakes checked and changed. They gave me an appointment. I dropped the car off in the morning, and by 3 pm they hadn’t called to saying they had don’t it, so I called them and they just said they don’t have time to do the car!! I’ve had no car for a day, and haven’t been able to work, and now I have to drive a car with dangerous brakes as they can’t be bothered to even check them, which takes 5 mins!!
Really poor service. Booked my car in for 8.30 for a wheel alignment appointment. (Booking time options were 8.30 or 11.30). By half 12 they hadn't even started and I needed the car back by one so had to go and pick it up with the garage having done the square root of naff all with it in the 4 hours they'd had it. I then rebooked the appointment which I then had to cancel due to my shifts being changed. Told them I'd have to rebook it again but all they did was cancel it and refund me. When I emailed and asked why they'd refunded me as I would still need to rebook I heard nothing. Word to the wise ignore their booking times they're meaningless and don't expect a prompt or efficient service.
disreputable rip off artists. I took my Volkswagen Golf here (December 2022) for a repair. They charged me over £600 to change the plugs and the coils. This did not fix the issue. When I then took it to a different garage, this garage revealed that the plugs and coils Halfords Autocentre had installed were the cheapest possible kind. My oil was also pretty much down to empty - this is a very basic thing that should and would have been checked and flagged by a reputable autocentre.
