Had to visit the Urgent treatment Centre today after falling and cutting my hand early last evening. The service and welcome was excellent and my hand treated and bandaged by Alex the clinician on duty. Thank you. A very positive, quick experience and I am very grateful for treatment provided. Thanks Gavin Atherton

Visited the UTC for treatment after slicing a lump of skin of my finger tip, and it wouldn't stop bleeding.....it was like visiting the old cottage hospitals of yesteryear....small, intimate, the staff brilliant. The injury wasn't life threatening, or serious in my view, if the wound had stopped bleeding I would have been able to treat it at home. The wound stopped bleeding whist there after an initial triage treatment, then the resident doctor who saw me, patched me up further, and I was sent on my merry way.....Cracking place to go for minor injuries, so much better than full blown A&E at a major hospital....I mean this in the niceset way, hopefully dont have to visit there again and meet the same people, but if I do, I know I will be treated with care and efficiency.....

My husband has recently been discharged from hospital after being admitted for nearly 4 weeks for a very serious illness. He woke up today with a bad allergic reaction to medication which caused his lips to swell up at an alarming rate. After checking online, we saw that this can be a side effect of this medication and to call 999. As he could breath and was relatively ok apart from that, I took him to Lewes Victoria Hospital urgent medical care unit. The receptionist was very polite and got us checked in asap. He was then seen by a triage nurse who was very caring and gave him some antihistamines. We then went to see another nurse who told us that she wasn't sure what it was so had to get a doctor. She then returned with a woman in a black uniform who treated us like we were stupid to have gone in and spoke to us like we were ignorant children. She told us that there was nothing wrong with him and if we wanted, we could sit in A&E for 10 hours if we didn't believe her! We didn't mention A&E, we didn't say we didn't believe her, we merely said we were worried it would get worse as it had happened and so fast and that he already has a serious respiratory illness. She was the most patronising, brusque and uncaring person we have had to deal with. Would rather spend 10 hours in A&E than have to get advice from this vile woman again.

Amazing hospital! Wonderful staff. I've never been seen so quickly in my life! Immaculately clean. Thankyou so much for your hard work!! I think the nurse I saw was Helen (sorry if that's wrong!) But she is a credit to the NHS

I visited for XRAY referred by my GP. I arrived 10 mins early for my 12 midday appointment. Easy and friendly checkin. Did not have a chance to sit and wait- watch TV or have a snack as I was taken in straight away. No other patients ahead of me. Fast and efficient processing, my questions answered. All good. This small NHS hospital has FREE Car Parking for around 40 cars at the rear of property. Clearly signed access to main hospital wheelchair friendly only a short downhill route surrounded by blue painted railings. Disabled parking for 8 vehicles at front. Entrance to X-ray unit is through automatic sliding doors. Reception immediately on left side. Comfortable chairs in small waiting area with free water cooler. Snacks available at certain times served by a human!

Thankyou to the staff at Victoria. Went on Christmas Eve feeling very unwell. Seen and treated by an amazing doctor and cheerful efficient nursing staff who were working their way through what seemed to be a never ending stream of patients. How lucky we are in Lewes to have them

Helen, a Nurse who was working the phones on Sunday 10th July and she was superb. NHS 111 had been totally useless and we were about to start a two hour round trip to hospital. Her informed, calm, compassionate and informed evaluation of our daughter saved us that trip but not at the expense of our daughters care. We now know what the red flags are to look for and what to do if we see them. We also feel happier and more confident to care for our daughter. Helen is a credit to Lewes Victoria and the NHS.

Very poor experience with a disinterested and dismissive stenographer. Referred for a 2 part scan under the two week rule; 1 scan not actually carried out as the stenographer clearly decided there was not a problem! Having had this done twice previously, I knew what to expect and how long the procedure would take, but this was not a pleasant experience. I was not even given anything to clean myself up with, having been covered in gel and then not had anything done! The stenographer has reported back that she carried out both scans and that they were normal. This is how cancers are missed and why we have the worst cancer survival rate in Europe. What happened is simply not good enough and I am pursuing this.

Was looked after by Holly and the team very well. I was quickly put at ease about a concern from an ongoing leg injury in a very professional manner. The ward is very clean, tidy, organised and run extremely well. I Would definitely recommend, and would like to say Iβd visit againβ¦.but unfortunately itβs not really the type of place anyone would go unless they need too.

In my opinion Victoria Hospital Lewis is the nicest hospital in Sussex the waiting time is top Class second to none every time I have had to go to Lewis Victoria Hospital which has been ofden over the years for X-Rays ect I haven't had to wait long to been seen and the nurses and staff are ever so polite to be perfectly honest it is the only hospital I've addtened that says that are sorry if they are running slightly late outstanding the hospital is so clean and I have been in most of the hospitals is Sussex from Brighton Eastbourne Hayward Health plus the princess Royal which is also a top class Hospital aswell. Parking is easy at the Lewis Victoria to being Disabled it is also free unlike Brighton! If I could give more stars I would so a definite full 5 out of 5 stars from me. Ps If by any chance your doctor asks you what hospital you would like to attend definitely ask for Lewis Victoria and if you have an injury which I hope you don't The Lewis Victoria is the best hospital! Thankyou to all the nurses and doctors & staff for taking care of me!!
