Cahms has been very helpful for us. We had a long wait time but since in therapy my son has improved massively. Very good therapists there and the psychiatrist today was super lovely. Cahms is underfunded but it’s not the staffs fault.

Unfortunately, it takes an incredibly long time to get help from CAMHS. By the time support finally arrives, the child is often already deeply struggling. Once involved, they tend to follow their own agenda, often ignoring the child’s feelings, mental health needs, and setbacks. Their plans move forward without real consideration for the impact on the child. Overall, it’s been a disappointing experience — one that leaves parents feeling we should be grateful simply because someone is doing something for our struggling child. And when the child turns 18, they are suddenly forgotten and left without support, despite promises of a smooth transition to adult services — promises that are never kept.

Awful establishment, after being in hospital for several months due to poor mental health I was eventually seen onsite by a social worker by the name of Sarah Porch, I begged her for help because I was really struggling and wanted any kind of support. She showed zero empathy and told me there was nothing further CAHMS could do for me (which was untrue), and heavily implied I wasn't deemed "bad enough". I can't believe they let such awful, inhumane people work for such a service. I am now left with physical and mental scars from the actions of her and others from this establishment.

This has a centre for people suffering from psychosis. It is opposite a nursery and next door to a primary school. Residents have encountered obviously unwell patients in the area. Doesn’t seem like a risk assessment has been done or they’d use a different location, surely?

Treated in a robotic manner, constantly changing staff, told me I looked healthy when I was suffering from a restrictive eating disorder. I believe this place prolonged my mental health problems.

Not even worth a star, I was 13 and went I to hospital for an od. I want allowed to leave unless I spoke to them, did that and had one off site session. They declined my treatment. Went back for year trying to sort my mental health out got declined everytime.

Camhs have neglected my sons care multiple times over the past 8 years! High turnover of staff so you always have different doctors or nurses that don’t know your child’s history, except of that on file. Didn’t keep up with routine 6 monthly appointments. They lie to you and say they’ll get something done by a certain date but they don’t even get it done without chasing up. Giving 1 star is being generous! Terrible service that needs to be prioritised by the NHS. Especially as this is a service for children and adolescents! Also, the main receptionist is down right rude, amongst other incidents, has shouted at me down the phone when I have chased up information, then proceeded to hang up on me. Avoid the Aldrington centre if you can!

Terrible treatment, horrible experience meaning I was left with worse issues than before and my GP told me to avoid them due to the false diagnosis they attempted to give me. I am appalled that a service for children and adolescents is allowed to be so unprofessional and lacking in human empathy or sympathy
