   Sadly renting their apartment was one of the worst experiences I've had. They give you the keys to the apartment and it's not clean or been restored to a decent state. There were crayon marks, stained carpets, flying ants, leaks, broken windows just to name a few things which took 2 weeks to rectify but they still wanted us to pay rent for this. The fire alarm which was connected to offices above would constantly go on without a way to turn off. There out of hours number person responsible wouldn't deal with the situation so had the alarm going off all weekend on a few occasions!??!!? It was a real fight to get our deposit back as even though we gave the apartment back in better condition, they still find ways to keep some. Its shocking that companies like this and there joint company Moretons Investments are allowed to do what they do to so many people that I know. AVOID!!!

   If there was 0 stars I would have selected that! Completely illegal and negligent from start to finish! . Stolen £4.5k of my money and refusing to return it. I was due to move into my new propperty yesterday but due to the severe negligence and unprofessionalism and illegal nature of proceedings the whole move was canceled on the move in day, having payed up for my and signed all legally binding documents, dreaming me homeless. I am still fighting to get a copy of legal documents and my money back (3 months rent plus deposit) They now refuse to answer the phone or respond to emails at all and I still Have not received my 4.5k back! Avoid like the plague , highly risky and illegal! Having to take legal action . I dealt with Rosey who first seemed sweet and helpful but actually so unprofessional and illegal resulting in devastating consequences which have been dealt with horrifically. Avoid avoid avoid!!!!

   Looking for a flat to rent is no easy matter at any time but especially not in Brighton where flats are advertised and snapped up within a couple of days. That's the nature of the market but the experience is all the more painful when an agent is poor at communicating (some never fulfilled the promise of even calling back) or were just plain slow to respond, operated archaic paper based requirements for proof of identity and other referencing needs or who gave the impression of having little interest in helping those looking for accommodation - presumably because of the strong demand. All of those I experienced during my search in July 2025 and in some cases all of them from a single agent! Then there was Standford's Estate Agents and specifically 'our' agent Rosey who was a real pleasure to deal with right from the first enquiry I made. Communication was fast and accurate, registration and references were managed using a slick and simple software portal provided by weblink and all contact whether remote or fin person was friendly, professional and efficient. Sadly slowing the speed of the market is far outside the influencing power of any agent but if she could have, I'm sure Rosey would have! Therefore in summary, I am very happy to post this very high recommendation for Standfords Estate Agents and especially Rosey for it is more than deserved. Thanks Rosey :-)

   My experience with Stanford Lettings Brighton was very pleasant. I was in contact with Rosey Jones throughout the process. She has been exceptionally helpful throughout the entire process. Her guidance, great customer service enabled me find a room in a shared property without any inconvenience. At times I was able to receive a response from her within a few minutes. Things were clearly explained, and all the documentation (rental agreement) was prepared as soon as I expressed my interest in one of the rental properties.    Walked into the estate agents and met with Ryan and he was absolutely fantastic in listening to my needs and was very accomodating. I spoke to him on a Tuesday evening and by Friday had a flat secured. He has kept up constant communication and has provided status updates as the application process has gone along.    Michael was fantastic from the very beginning. When valuing my mothers retirement property he was caring and respectful of her needs and wishes, it was this approach that led us to choose Michael as our agent. Michael knew my mothers building inside and out and handled all viewings with care, respect and excellent communication, which was greatly appreciated as my mother was vulnerable. He achieved a quick sale, above asking, which we accepted in the knowledge that the chain had been well vetted by Michael to prevent issues in the future. During solicitor delays Michael stayed in touch and chased to get things moving. If you're looking for a caring agent, with the skill to secure a quick and reliable sale I would highly recommend Michael.

   Warning! They will take your holding fee and find any reason not to accept you, ie the holding fee scam. I explained that my Guarantor was retired but owned 3 houses. They said that was fine, and as soon as i paid the holding fee they said my guarantor didn't earn enough money, despite have paid off 3 houses in full she didn't qualify. Judging by the reviews it seems its not the first time, on top of that they refused to offer any kind of refund, even the director of the company. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

   Michael was really helpful and supported us through the whole process of selling my mum's flat. He went over and above to ensure the sale proceeded as smoothly as possible and kept the buyer informed and on side during some unavoidable hiccups. Michael knew the property well and dealt with us throughout so we were not handed to other colleagues. Would highly recommend them.
