I really like the fact that they show vintage movies (we went to see Polar Express the other day). It's a lot of fun. Also gave us the option of watching movies that we missed in the big screen. Unfortunately, the movie theatre is a bit cold. Staff is great.
It's one of those good places that help make a town into a community. Go there to watch a range of films, occasional theatre and live performances at prices that won't make a hole in your pocket. It has a large theatre, and a smaller 'Studio' space with a stage and balcony seating. Built in Art Deco style, it is an interesting place simply to be in. The cafe upstairs is also a good place to enjoy the period architecture, but it's not open very often, unfortunately. The toilets could do with refurbishment.
I like the Connaught for its traditional charm. I've never seen a play here but have been to film screenings. Staff are nice and helpful. Only criticism I have is that the popcorn here is disgusting and tastes like its been there a few days. Other than that I Highly recommend this place.
Great theatre. 2 drawbacks, first the mens toilets are too small, 1 urinal, 1 cubicle. For 500 theatre goers is ridiculous. Secondly, the snack bar has 2nstaff to serve 500 people. Ridiculous. This place needs to be able to cater much better as we had 20 minute interval, an waited over 10 mins to be served with a drink n popcorns. Was the same in the bar upstairs. Massive ques for drink before the show started and in the interval. This theatre needs better a management system. Its not right to que forn10 mins for the mens toilet, and the women's toilet ques were even longer. Great show tho, just a shame Worthing theatre lacks the ability to cater for its theatre goers..
Comfortable medium size theatre and concert venue. Friendly Staff and Atmosphere.
Lovely nostalgic old fashioned cinema with stalls as well as balcony seating and a kiosk selling a range of food and drinks including wines and beers. An upstairs bar too. Excellent value for money - we paid just £9 for 2 tickets for a premium film screened after 5.00pm on a Sunday. Highly recommended.
The backstage tour is interesting, eye-opening and contains a spiral staircase of impressive height. Enthusiastic people taking you round and a cup of tea to finish. Definitely worth adding to your agenda.
Have been here many times with family and friends, usually to the cinema on screens one or the smaller number two next door. I particularly like the Silver Screen shows on a Monday when a cup of tea/coffee and a packet of biscuits is included. The staff are friendly and helpful and the facilities are good, although the toilets are a little small for the potential number of customers.
Love the personal feeling of this historic old cinema/ theatre. Watched panto there for ten years on the trot whilst the children grew up and when a blockbuster movie is about to premiere. Grab a beer or wine whatever you fancy , sit down and relax in a classic nostalgic atmosphere of old. ( with modern comforts of course!)
