What has happened to the duty of care? Nasty, uninterested, and totally unprofessional! Firstly, I was No4 in the queue, waited & waited only to be hung up upon. Phoned back again and was over 40 minutes in the queue again. I had a serious health concern and was dismissed by the call handler. Told ‘someone’ will call back- tomorrow! It’s not good enough. Nobody is interested, Annual check ups,, and routine blood work seem to be a thing of the past. Long term medication is cut off at a whim without any discussion with the patient. This is a terrible surgery, and with horrible staff.

Left on the phone for an hour and a half, I was caller no.5 they answered the first four by 10.45 that alone took three quarters of an hour then I was left from 10.45 to 11.30 only to be told there are no appointments left. They actually clicked on the phone three times to see if I was still on the other end but would not answer it. I told them I am going to put in a complaint to the doctor and she said ",suit yourself," and hung up. Tried again today as I have had sciatica for four weeks, absolute agony , yet again to be told the doctor won't see anyone with back pain. I am 68 years old. I have never known a doctor's like it. Absolutely disgusting. I always wondered why it was empty every time I went in there to get a prescription. Well I am not leaving it at that, I am getting on to the medical board next.

Reception staff sit there for 4/5 minutes laughing and giggling while your in the cue waiting to be seen, then have terrible attitude as if they are gutted they have to do their job before returning to their cups of tea. They are paid to make people welcome and support their needs not make them wait and then feel as if they shouldn’t be there. 1 lady is very nice and kind but the others need a little practice in how to be polite.

The male receptionist is polite and caring, he puts the female receptionists to shame. The nurses are great! To see a doctor is impossible. Can doctors really diagnose over the phone? According to the doctor I’ve had extensive tests, I don’t think so. Happy to give me more codeine just to get rid of me. Gaslighting has become an epidemic….

In our experience, this GP surgery is excellent despite current staff shortages. The doctors and nurses have always been professional, pleasant and caring, providing my elderly housebound mother with urgent attention when needed. The receptionists have always remained helpful, friendly and efficient (in contrast to the dragons experienced elsewhere, in the past). The responses to AskmyGP requests have usually been quick and always within a reasonable time (though it would be better if submission times were not so limited).

My husband went in with severe back pain that was moving to his chest and had what felt like heartburn. Was seen very briefly and told he had a chest infection and given antibiotics and Naproxen (the naproxen did nothing for his pain.) Was in the A&E two days later and turned out he had a tumor on his chest, causing pleural effusion; the tumor turned out to be lymphoma. So that was very very poor and he really suffered in those two days before going to A&E. My own experiences there have been hit or miss. The doctors are usually very good but the healthcare assistants and receptionists can be rude, dismissive, and unsympathetic (my most recent experience was absolutely shocking.) If I could more easily get to a GP I would probably have found another by now.

Very efficient appointment system for past months, especially effective during covid19 restrictions. Reception staff are pleasant and friendly as well as helpful. Prescription service coordination with local chemist shop, is excellent. Having had issues in the past, they look to identify and correct or improve, successfully too! Many other local areas are unable to match this level of service, ideally they will soon.

Politics in this surgery are disgusting. The problem is no person that works here loves their job and the locum doctors have a bad work ethic. One practise but shows everything that has gone wrong within the nhs.
