What very helpful, polite staff, everytime I ring on behalf of my mother in law, they are always helpful in sorting any problems that may arise. Many thanks to all the team.

I've recently changed surgeries from Waterside to Victoria gardens. They discovered high blood pressure & sorted immediately I see the nurse Leanne who is great. I have had gout & was seen by locum however drugs given slow working had a ring back & theve fitted me in to check.

I didn’t think accessing healthcare could get more difficult, unfortunately, it has. I chose this surgery because it appeared to offer convenient online booking and communication, but in reality, it’s misleading. You’re required to fill out an online form, only to receive an email days later telling you to call, which just delays everything unnecessarily. Appointments are often arranged at short notice without checking your availability. I was once booked for an appointment the next day while I was abroad despite the surgery being aware I was away, as I had to jump through hoops to refill my medication before traveling. If I hadn’t had a direct admin email, I would’ve missed the appointment and potentially been marked as a DNA. Transferring my care from my previous GP was also stressful. It was a hassle getting my diabetes medication moved over, even though it was a continuation of care. The surgery initially insisted the hospital prescribe it, leaving me uncertain about whether I’d have access to essential medication. I was also told a GP would call, but no one ever did. To be clear, the staff I’ve interacted with have always been pleasant in attitude. It seems obvious they’re just following instructions from management, who appear to be gatekeeping care at every possible turn. I honestly couldn’t imagine being a receptionist there and having to constantly turn people away or provide misleading information because someone higher up doesn’t want to take responsibility or provide proper access to care. The lack of communication, poor coordination, and unnecessary obstacles make this surgery incredibly frustrating to deal with. Basic healthcare access shouldn't be this hard. Patients deserve honesty and directness, not to be strung along or constantly passed from one person to another. It would ease stress on not only patients but the staff as well I am sure.

The worst surgery there is in south wales. Horrific staff and horrible treatment of the elderly. Their phone lines never work how are you even supposed to contact if you have a serious health crisis IF YOU CANT EVEN GET THRU TO THEM ON THE PHONE

By far the worst surgery in Neath. The reception staff are abrupt and rude with zero bedside manner. When you do manage to get through via phone they abruptly say 'surgery' in a bored tone. Physically visiting the surgery the GP's I did see were great but unfortunately the reception staff let it down badly. Perhaps some customer service training is in order but honestly how hard is it to say 'good morning Victoria Gardens surgery how can I help?' finally if you want to make a complaint they insist you come into the practice to fill out a form, heaven forbid they email you a form to fill out, the receptionist nearly had a fit when I suggested that. Overall I appreciate how hard the medical staff work there but please sort your reception staff out.

Rude, obnoxious and dismissive reception staff who don't listen to what you are asking. Trying to contact this joke of a surgery is impossible. Simply put, this practice is stuck in the 1980's and hasn't caught up with the rest of the country. Utterly appauling.

Excellent Reception staff & management, who work under tremendous pressure. As th3e population ages & more rely on General practitioners. Its frustratingly hard to get an appointment.

The ratings say it all. Call at 8:30 (don’t dare call 5 minutes early or you’ll be sent on your way) to be told all appointments are full…. How when you also cannot prebook appointments? Told bluntly to ring back at 12:30 for afternoon appointments…. Guess where this goes. 12:30 - sorry all our afternoon appointments are full. Poorly run GPs like this one are the reason A&E is overwhelmed. Absolute shambles of a service. If you can register elsewhere please do!

I recently attended the surgery with a relative who was registering as a patient there. The service provided was both friendly and efficient. In particular, I would like to thank both Rose and Liz for their asisstance, and Dr Williams for his kindness, help and support in ensuring the prompt and smooth transfer of care. Despite having endured what must have been a very difficult couple of years as a result of Covid, the surgery continues to offer a supportive, friendly and efficient service for which I, and my family are very grateful.
