Reflection on GP Registration and Primary Care Experience β since June 2025 I formally registered with my current GP practice in June 2025, during a period of significant personal and professional upheaval, following a new diagnosis of diabetes mellitus. From the outset, the level of care, clinical attentiveness, and administrative efficiency I have received from the practice has been nothing short of exemplary. It is often said that one only fully appreciates the strength of the NHS when one experiences it as a patient. As a hospital-based consultant myself, working within a busy trauma and limb reconstruction service, I am acutely aware of the challenges and complexities that face frontline care teams β both in secondary and primary care. I also understand the pressures that can compromise communication, responsiveness, and continuity. However, my experience with this GP practice has been remarkable in every regard. Although it took a short period to optimise my medications and stabilise my blood glucose levels, every clinical request I made was met promptly and professionally. Prescription changes, blood test scheduling, follow-up advice, and even broader discussions around lifestyle modification were handled with care and clarity. I was never made to feel rushed or sidelined. Instead, I was treated with respect, urgency, and attention β not as a colleague or a professional peer, but simply and importantly, as a patient. From an administrative perspective, the AskMyGP platform has been particularly effective. Despite my work often keeping me in administrative and clinical settings within the hospital, I was able to communicate clearly and efficiently with the GP team. I would frequently receive next-day responses to blood results, medication queries, or requests for review. That level of responsiveness is not only clinically reassuring, but also emotionally grounding during a time of transition and health uncertainty. What I found especially notable was the consistency of service across the team β from reception staff and administrative personnel to the nursing team and GPs. The tone of communication was always courteous and constructive. The quality of medical advice was clear and pragmatic. The system functioned not only with efficiency but with genuine compassion. I am aware of the pressure primary care is under across the UK, and I know first-hand the immense burden carried by colleagues in general practice. However, I can say without hesitation that this particular practice has consistently demonstrated a gold standard of patient-centred care. Their service has been, quite simply, second to none. In conclusion, I wish to record my sincere thanks to the entire GP team. As a fellow clinician, I recognise and deeply value the effort it takes to deliver this level of care. As a patient, I remain truly grateful. Their collective professionalism, responsiveness, and compassion made a significant difference during a challenging period in my own health, and I would not hesitate to recommend this practice to others. I have nothing but praise for the lovely staff and doctors at this surgery. From the day I registered after moving to the area, my experience has been excellent. My registration was processed promptly, and my medication was arranged without any issues. When I needed an appointment and a referral, everything was organised quickly and efficiently, without any delays. Everyone is always helpful, friendly, and professional β nothing is ever too much trouble. I am very grateful for the outstanding care and service I have received.

I am currently not registered with a GP after my previous one failed to diagnose my son and myself with whooping cough for 2 months! Was told by 111 that I urgently need to see a GP. Called this surgery for a second time after speaking to 111 to be told they can't see me until I hand forms in. I told them I have the forms ready and can bring them with me to an appointment, but that wasn't good enough and I'd have to drive, ill and completely off balance with a rash and headache to drop the forms off before they'd even consider seeing me at a future date. Absolutely no care whatsoever!

I saw the low reviews on this surgery so felt I had to leave a reviews and give 5 star it deserves. I moved here from another local surgery a few years ago after never being able to get an appointment. I have to say I am so impressed with the service. Ask my GP is a brilliant tool when sometimes you just need to ask a question or have some reassurance. This way you aren't clogging up the phone lines of someone with a need much greater. I have never had any issues getting an appointment, and all the staff have been friendly and helpful. OK the surgery is extremely outdated and in need of an upgrade but other than that I cannot fault them. Thankyou

A practice with no empathy or sympathy. A practice where the receptionists make fun of you or criticise you for following the rules they give you. A practice that lost my results on more than one occassion. A practice where the doctors do not care about their patients and do not take them seriously. UPDATE 1: The situation got worse and my health has suffered due to the actions of the people working here. A practice so awful its like they want people to get anxiety and stress. They also cancelled an appointment with no permission and didn't tell anyone. UPDATE 2: Doctor promised to phone back and hasn't. UPDATE 3: They never answer phones and my fathers health is getting worse and worse. They also disconnect phones which I think is illegal. UPDATE 4: They sent me a letter from one doctor to another doctor (and not written for me) a random plastic bag and an unfolded box in the mail and when asked what they are for claimed that they didn't know.

The staff working here should be ashamed of themselves! Their an absolute joke! They use askmygp at their advantage, you send a message for an appointment and they reply back with either βweβre fully booked todayβ and then you go down and thereβs absolutely no one there! Or βitβs emergency only todayβ mostly everyday is emergency only! But then they also put down as βrequest completedβ so you canβt reply back to say it is an emergency! I have asthma and have been having chest pain and wheezing since having a bad cold last week and I messaged today to be told to go for an appointment Monday?! Very lazy staff!

I have recently had to visit the surgery once or twice a week for the past 3/4 weeks. Although it was just a minor ailment the 5 nurses I saw during that time were very friendly, kind and helpful and I would just like to say thank you to them for treating me so well.
